The 2011 edition of the annual Carols for a Cure album is now in the works. Produced by Rock-it Science Records and currently in it's thirteenth year, purchase of the album benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This highly anticipated annual holiday release features casts from the current line-up of prestigious shows performing new and traditional holiday music. Broadway's Carols for a Cure offers a 'snapshot' of each season, as the casts and orchestras from each show on Broadway perform their own holiday track. In the 2010-2011 season, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT was honored with three Best Musical award nominations from the Drama Desk, Drama League and Outer Critics Circle Award organizations. Olivier Award nominee Tony Sheldon has also received a Tony Award nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical in addition to Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Drama League nominations and the Theatre World Award for outstanding Broadway debut. Sheldon was also honored with a Tony nomination as were costume designers Tim Chappel and Lizzy Gardiner, who took home the prize. In celebration of the nominations, the company took the stage at the 2011 Tony Awards on Sunday with a performance of 'It's Raining Men' with the song's composer Paul Shaffer and original songstress Martha Wash. On Thursday, April 28th, Renaissance Hotels and RLife LIVE, presented a special performances by renowned DJ Mia Moretti and electric violinist Caitlin Moe and the cast of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, all as part of an exclusive gathering co-hosted by superstar Cyndi Lauper. The event, also sponsored by American Airlines with cocktails courtesy of GREY GOOSE® Vodka, included a silent auction with proceeds benefitting Cyndi Lauper's True Colors Fund in an effort to engage everyone on LGBT equality and respect, while raising awareness about LBGT youth homelessness. This special event is part of a larger Renaissance Hotels program designed to celebrate diversity and inclusion within the hospitality, travel and tourism community.

Family Equality Council, America's foremost national advocate for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) families, held the organization's annual New York City awards dinner last night, Monday, April 25, 2011 at Pier 60 in New York.

The stars of Broadway's new hit PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT THE MUSICAL appeared at a special live performance at Barnes & Noble's upper east side flagship location (150 East 86th Street at Lexington Avenue) yesterday, April 7 to celebrate the release of the musical's Original Broadway Cast Recording.
