9 To 5: The Musical Photos - US Tour

9 to 5:  The Musical is a theatre piece based on the 1980 hit film, with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and a book by Patricia Resnick.  It is now on stage at Chagrin Valley Little Theatre.

Broadway Training Center of Westchester, one of the region's premier performing arts schools, will present 'Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical' December 3rd through 5th at Hastings High School in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Carol Irvin, who has been a mainstay at Crossville's Cumberland County Playhouse for more than 20 years, is the latest recipient of The First Night Robe,presented on Saturday, November 17, prior to curtain of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Earlier in the same week, Bralyn Stokes received the robe at Rhubarb Theater's Birds in Church, and Michael Holder and Josh Waldrep claimed it at Street Theatre Company's Miss Saigon in Concert.

Clay Steakley, who plays the role of F. Scott Fitzgerald in the Actors Bridge Ensemble's world premiere production of Bill Feehely's Outside Paradise, is the latest recipient of The First Night Robe. Jeffrey Ellis, founder and executive producer of The First Night Honors, presented the robe to Steakley on Saturday, November 10, prior to curtain of Outside Paradise at Belmont University's Black Box Theatre.

Tony Award-winning composer Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Anastasia, Once on This Island, Seussical) caught up on his theatergoing this past weekend when he took in both SILENCE! 9 to 5: The Musical launched its first national tour September 21, 2010 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center in Nashville.

Jason Alexander, Artistic Director of Reprise Theatre Company and Stephanie J. Block, Broadway star of '9 to 5: The Musical,' 'Wicked,' 'The Pirate Queen,' and 'The Boy From Oz,' will star in 'They're Playing Our Song,' the opening production of Reprise Theatre Company's 2010-2011 season, playing September 28 to October 10 (press opening September 29) at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.

A cast of more than 125 performers took to the stage of the Troutt Theatre at Belmont University to fete the eight members of the 2010 Class of First Night Honorees in a production that featured the best of the best of Nashville theater and included a surprise appearance by Joseph Mahowald, winner of a 1989 First Night Award, now playing the role of Franklin Hart Jr. in the national tour of 9 to 5: The Musical, which opened in Nashville at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, September 21.

This fall the Overtime Theater will proudly present a new musical based on an award-winning hit local film. Opening October 8, 2010, Dr. S Battles the Sex-Crazed Reefer Zombies: The Movie: The Musical is the world premiere production of an original, new rock horror musical.

Last night, June 14, The Town Hall celebrated the Broadway By The Year® 10th Anniversary Celebration - Broadway By The Year 1990-2010, Created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for the Town Hall, the Broadway performers included Norm Lewis (The Little Mermaid, Sondheim on Sondheim), Karen Mason (Mama Mia!), Astaire Award-winner Spencer Liff (Cry- Baby), Michael Winther (Mama Mia!), Douglas Ladnier (Jekyll & Hyde), Ann Harada (Avenue Q), four-time Tony® Award nominee Gregg Edelmann (Tale of Two Cities), Alexander Gemignani (Les Miserables), Tony® Award winner Debbie Gravitte, Kendrick Jones (The Scottsboro Boys), three-time Tony® Award nominee Mark Kudisch (9 to 5), Tony® Award nominee Bobby Steggert (Ragtime), Julia Murney (Wicked), Max Von Essen (Xanadu national tour), Tony ® Award nominee Barbara Wash (Company) and Lari White (Ring of Fire). Broadway by the Year 1990-2010 was directed by Nightlife Award winner Scott Coulter, who also performed in the show.

This week, Broadway Musicals of 1927 kicked off the Town Hall's 10th Anniversary season of the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series. Alexander Gemignani directed and starred in the show alongside Finian's Rainbow's Kate Baldwin and Christopher Fitzgerald, Melinda Sullivan, Kendrick Jones, Carole Bufford, Marc Kudisch (9 to 5), Chad Kimball (Memphis), and Quentin Earl Darrington, Bobby Steggert, Ron Bohmer, and Christiane Noll from Ragtime. Broadway Musicals of 1927 is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Ross Patterson musical directed the event, beginning his tenth season as the musical director of Broadway by the Year®.

Last night in New York, 7June 2009, Stephen Daldry's production of Billy Elliot the Musical celebrated an astonishing number of wins at the Tony Awards confirming the British musical as an internationally award-winning hit.

Signature Theatre Company's world premiere production of Queens Boulevard (the musical) at The Peter Norton Space. Opening Night is Monday, December 3.
