ELVIS - A MUSICAL REVOLUTION is an enlightening and entertaining new bio-musical about the late Elvis Presley.

Under the baton of Conductor Brett Weymark, the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs and Orchestra adds to the Sydney Opera House’s 50th Anniversary celebrations with THE GOLDEN AGE OF BROADWAY.

On Monday night, Over Here! The Big Band Musical was back in New York at The Triad Theatre for the first time since its original 1974 Broadway production and the joint was jumpin'. Veteran's Day proved to be the perfect time to revive this beloved celebration of the American spirit and optimism that defined the 1940's. To make it even more worthwhile, a portion of the proceeds from the evening was donated to Vietnam Veterans of America. Over Here! is one of this journalist's favorite musicals, so I was thrilled to have it back on the boards. Under the razor-sharp direction of Will Nunziata, who is quickly becoming a go-to director, this feel-good show sparkled and shined like a freshly polished diamond. It featured a stellar cast of 19, plus an 11-piece swing band, under musical director extraordinaire Blake Allen. Choreographer Andrew Black used every inch of space to give us one eye-popping musical number after another.

Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical BROADWAY BOUND shares his journey from the familial home to his dream career as part of Broadway's entertainment industry. 

Bergen County Players (BCP), one of America's longest-running little theater companies, is proud to open its 86th season with the Tony Award-winning musical, The Mystery of Edwin Drood.   With Book, Music and Lyrics written by Rupert Holmes, The Mystery of Edwin Drood is based on an unfinished novel by Charles Dickens. Under the direction of Steve Bell, The Mystery of Edwin Droodwill be performed at the Little Firehouse Theatre in Oradell from September 8th through October 6th, 2018.  Shows will be on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.  Tickets can be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office at 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell during regular box office hours.

From Broadway and B-Movies to fiascoes in fashion, Mr. Blackwell was the original arbiter of wrong and right on the red carpet. From Carol Channing ('Finger paints, chicken feathers, and glue thrown into an electric fan'-1966) to Bette Midler (Potluck in a laundramat'-1973), Blackwell remarked, 'I'm only saying out loud what everyone else is whispering.'

The New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, America's preeminent professional Gilbert & Sullivan repertory company, launches its G&S Fest 2013-14, presenting iconic classic productions of The Pirates of Penzance and Patience when the company returns to Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street) on December 27th for a strictly limited engagement through January 5th. On Wednesday, December 14, A Christmas Story, The Musical! celebrated its opening night at Chicago's legendary Chicago Theatre with producer Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in the original 1983 film, there to cheer the company on. Check out photos from opening night below!
