Last seen at STAGES in its Inaugural Season, I DO! I DO! tells the poignant story of 50 years in the married lives of Michael and Agnes.  This two character musical version of the comedy/drama "The Fourposter" takes place entirely in a bedroom and takes its audience on a whirlwind journey that begins in 1895 and ends half a century later.  I DO! I DO! offers its audiences a frank look at the miracle of marriage as Michael and Agnes experience childbirth, parenthood, and the eventual settling down to face the future and their advancing years together.

Rubicon Theatre Company celebrates Black History Month with THE DEVIL'S MUSIC: THE LIFE AND BLUES OF BESSIE SMITH, starring singer and actress Miche Braden of the original Off-Broadway production (named one of the 10 Best Off-Broadway productions of the year by the N.Y. Daily Times). Described by CBC as a, "bawdy, bluesy, boozy rollicking night out at the theatre," the show follows the life, loves and career of blues and jazz singer Bessie Smith, called the "Empress of the Blues." 

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, kicked off its 12th Season when it presented its 121st concert presentation with Shaw's 1895 legendary comedy Candida on Monday, February 13 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season will continue with Oscar Wilde's famous satire The Importance of Being Earnest, which will run from July 7th through July 24th at the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville, NC.

The 58th season of Kansas City Ballet continues with the enchanting tale of SWAN LAKE with choreography by Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney after Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov and the mesmerizing score of Peter I. Tchaikovsky. The production will be accompanied by Kansas City Symphony conducted by Kansas City Ballet Music Director Ramona Pansegrau and runs tonight, Feb. 19, through Feb. 28 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The Arc Theatre is pleased to celebrate its permanent move to Evanston with the world premiere of THE THINGS WE KEEP by Artistic Director Mark Boergers*, directed by ensemble member Natalie Sallee*, playing now through February 28, 2016 at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St. in Evanston. After six successful years of artistic residence at Shakespeare on the Ridge, The Arc Theatre expands its Evanston season with this exciting drama about family, art and repressed emotions. The press opening is tonight, February 5 at 7:30 pm. Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT) has created 'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America,' a play chronicling the American years (1892-1895) of Czech composer Antonin Dvorak, during which he produced a flurry of 'American' works. GOH Productions and Dvorak-American Heritage Association (DAHA) will present the piece as a work in progress January 30 and 31, 2016 at Bohemian National Hall, 321 East 73rd Street (Upper East Side). This production is preparatory to the play's upcoming world premiere run, which will be presented by La Mama Experimental Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village), six weeks later: from March 10 to 27, 2016 (see more info below). A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company, continues its 2014-2015 REVOLUTIONary season with The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which opens on Saturday, September 27 and runs through Saturday, November 22, 2014. Directed by five-time L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award-winner Michael Michetti, this is the second production of The Importance of Being Earnest for A Noise Within, which mounted the play originally in their 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons. In Mahler's mighty "Resurrection" symphony, he dramatically addresses life-and-death issues as only he could-"one is battered to the ground and then raised on angels' wings to the highest heights." CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni opens the 2013-14 season by leading the Columbus Symphony Chorus, featured guest vocalists Dominique Labelle (soprano) and Sasha Cooke (mezzo-soprano), and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, including an off-stage brass ensemble echoing the last judgement from another world. This will also be the official debut of Jean-Sebastien Roy as the CSO's new concertmaster.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Cincinnati's stage for the classics, presents Osacr Wilde's most perfect comedy, "The Importance of Being Earnest" playing from November 23- December 16, 2012. This production is directed by Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Producing Artistic Director Brian Isaac Phillips and features CSC Resident Ensemble Members Sara Clark, Jeremy Dubin, Jessie Wray Goodman, Jim Hopkins and Brent Vimtrup. Burning Coal Theatre Company will close its 15th season with the world premiere of Jude the Obscure, Parts 1 & 2 by Ian Finley, with music and lyrics by Thomas Hardy, Bruce Benedict, Jerome Davis and Jonathan Fitts. Coal Creek Community Theater of Louisville, CO presents Voice of the Prairie, written by John Olive and directed by Linda Orr. The play, spanning three decades, from 1895, through the early days of radio in 1923, centers on the adventures of Davey Quinn and Frankie, the Blind Girl, as re-told some 30 years later by the now middle-aged David Quinn. Quinn becomes famous sending his stories into the 'Ethernet' through the infant industry of radio as 'The Voice of the Prairie.' Frankie hears Davey?s stories and reenters his life as the FCC threatens them all for broadcasting without a license.
