La Jolla Playhouse and Kansas City Repertory Theatre is presenting the world-premiere production of Blueprints to Freedom: An Ode to Bayard Rustin, by Michael Benjamin Washington, directed by Lucie Tiberghien (Blood and Gifts). The new Broadway musical Doctor Zhivago, which opened at the Broadway Theatre on April 21st, 2015, recorded its cast album on Thursday, May 28th. Authors include composer Lucy Simon (The Secret Garden), lyricists Michael Korie (Grey Gardens) and Amy Powers (the two multi-platinum Sunset Boulevard hits) and book writer Michael Weller (screenwriter for Hair and Ragtime). Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Des McAnuff, the highly anticipated new Broadway musical DOCTOR ZHIVAGO begins performancetomorrow, Friday, March 27, and has announced a '$35 Under 30' rush ticket policy for the new musical that will officially open on Tuesday, April 21 at theBroadway Theatre (1681 Broadway). A limited number of $35 tickets (inclusive of $2 facility fee) for patrons ages 30 and under will be available for each performance when the box office opens for that day's performance (s) with valid photo identification. Patrons are limited to two tickets per person.
