The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on Stage Videos - West End

The world premiere production of the brand new musical comedy Bullets Over Broadway, written by Woody Allen and based on the screenplay by Allen and Douglas McGrath for the 1994 film, will begin preview performances tomorrow, March 11 and officially open Thursday, April 10, 2014 at The St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). The new musical will be directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman. Roundabout Theatre Company's production of Machinal, starring Rebecca Hall, written by Sophie Treadwell and directed by Lyndsey Turner, began previews on December 20, 2013 ahead of an official opening on January 16, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. Disney's The Little Mermaid, the hit Broadway musical based on the popular animated film, opened July 10 at Wells Fargo Pavilion for a two-week run through July 22. This Disney family favorite, part of the 2012 Music Circus season, features the popular songs "Part of Your World," "Under the Sea," and "Kiss the Girl." Tickets start at $30 for all performances, with specially-priced children's tickets available in any seating section.

The acclaimed off-Broadway production of Lysistrata Jones will transfer to Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre this fall, with previews beginning November 12, 2011 and opening night scheduled December 14, 2011. DreamWorks Theatricals and Neal Street Productions, Ltd. are presenting SHREK THE MUSICAL, with book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire and music by Jeanine Tesori, at the San Diego Civic Theatre through Sunday, July 10, 2011. Performances began July 5.

La Jolla Playhouse presents a new adaptation of Sleeping Beauty Wakes, book by Tony Award-winning librettist Rachel Sheinkin (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), with a score by composer Brendan Milburn and lyricist Valerie Vigoda, both of the acclaimed trio GrooveLily (Striking 12, Long Story Short), and directed by Rebecca Taichman, who will also direct The Playhouse's 2011/12 world premiere of Milk Like Sugar. A co-production with Princeton's McCarter Theatre Center, Sleeping Beauty Wakes runs July 19 - August 21 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. The cast of the upcoming Off-Broadway revival of Abe Burrows' classic comedy Cactus Flower met the press and Broadway Beat was there! Cast members include Jenni Barber (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), Emily Walton (August: Osage County), Maxwell Caulfield (Grease 2), Lois Robbins ('Ryan's Hope'), Anthony Reimer ('Rescue Me'), John Herrera (The Times, They are a Changin'), Robin Skye (Parade) and Jeremy Bobb (Is He Dead?).

Directed by Marc Bruni, with choreography by Wendy Seyb, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee opened January 23 at the Paper Mill Playhouse. The production began performances on January 19 and runs through February 13, 2010.
