He has created set designs for television, theatre, film and theme parks in Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, Hong Kong, India, Malta, South Africa, the United States and Canada. He began his professional career at the Design Department of the Canadian Broadcasting Network in Toronto. After ten years he resigned and opened his own company Design Service Associates. He was both a designer and a consultant for six years with the CTV Network, before moving to California. Nederlander (Chairman). He is the third generation of a family known for owning and operating theatres around the world as well as theatrical productions, cultural presentations and popular music attractions. Current productions include West Side Story, The Addams Family, Next to Normal and Race. Upcoming productions include a live show with magician David Blaine. Since 2003, Thom served as General Manager for Nederlander Worldwide Entertainment, working on numerous domestic and international toursincluding most recently Rent in Cuba and The Producers tour in China. Previously, he worked with producer Elizabeth McCann on many productions.
