The hit musical comedy SISTER ACT, produced by Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment, is coming to Birmingham Hippodrome for a glorious limited season, raising the roof and getting the congregation dancing in the aisles for the final time as part of the current national tour from tonight, 9 - Saturday 20 October 2012.

Producers Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment have announced that the Broadway musical SISTER ACT will play its final Broadway performance on Sunday, August 26, 2012, prior to kicking off a North American tour on October 2 at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre. Upon closing after a 16-month run, the Broadway production will have played 28 previews and 561 performances at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway).

The evening will feature Jeff Waxman on piano with special guest Tony Winner LaChanze, with whom Mr. Leggs shared the Broadway stage in The Color Purple.

SISTER ACT, which celebrated its one-year Anniversary on Broadway on April 20, is playing at the Broadway Theater. SISTER ACT's newest star Raven-Symone has been sidelined from the production for several performances last week as she battles the flu. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that the star is on the mend and will be back in the production tomorrow, April 10.
