In 1936, 12 year old Frankie Ross Wolpin sat next to her cousin George Gershwin on his piano bench in New York City while he played the piano.  Last night (February 5th 2026) the 101 year old Frankie was seated next to Michael Feinstein on another piano bench as he played and sang Gershwin’s “Our Love Is Here To Stay”.

The full season will feature B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching, a world premiere play and an award recipient of the GRANTS FOR ARTS PROJECTS from the National Endowment for the Arts; Once, a Tony Award-winning musical; Songs For a New World, the first musical by a Tony Award winner; Dracula, a classic gothic tale of horrors; and Edward Albee's Seascape, a Pulitzer Prize-winning play. 

An earth-shaking collection of indigenous-feminist performers, bands and performance art groups gathered at La MaMa on Tuesday for an impassioned celebration of Spiderwoman, the world's longest-running Native American theatre company, and one of America's longest continuously active feminist performance collectives. According to the NY Times, Cherry Lane Theatre's Angelina Fiordellisi, will resign as Artistic Director sometime between March and June of 2011. Additionally, Fiordellisi plans to sell the building, which has been a Greenwich Village staple since 1924, due to ongoing financial struggles.
