In September, New Conservatory Theatre Center kicks off its 2017-18 subscription season with the world premiere of This Bitter Earth by Harrison David Rivers, directed by NCTC Founder & Artistic Director Ed Decker.

American Blues Theater opens its 2017-2018 Season with the Chicago Premiere of Beauty's Daughter by Dael Orlandersmith, directed by Ron OJ Parson, and Artistic Affiliate Wandachristine. Beauty's Daughter runs July 7 - August 5, 2017 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave. in Chicago.  

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 48th season with the World Premiere of The Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga. Drawn from one of the first ever graphic novels, set to an infectious ragtime and vaudeville score by local composer/lyricist Min Kahng, the comic musical follows four Japanese immigrants in a world of possibility and prejudice: turn-of-the-twentieth-century San Francisco. From a tumultuous earthquake to an exhilarating World's Fair, the quartet pursues the American Dream, despite limited options in the land of opportunity. Directed by TheatreWorks Associate Artistic Director Leslie Martinson, and developed at TheatreWorks' 2016 New Works Festival, the World Premiere ofThe Four Immigrants: An American Musical Manga will be presented July 12-August 6, 2017 (press opening: July 15) at Lucie Stern Theatre, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Second Stage Theater has announced that the world premiere of GREG PIERCE's play, CARDINAL, directed by KATE WHORISKEY, has been added to the 2017-18 season. The production will open in Winter 2018 at the Tony Kiser Theater (305 West 43rd Street).

This summer, The K.G. Scully Players are pleased to present VICTORY GIRLS, by Kristina Poe, directed by Jill DeArmon, as part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity.

The Department of Theater at Brooklyn College is one of New York City's outstanding institutions in the training of theater artists. Windy City Playhouse (3014 W. Irving Park Road) announces the complete casting for Gina Gionfriddo's "Becky Shaw," the dark, "ferociously funny" (The New York Times) comedy. Jeff Award winner Scott Weinstein directs the final production in Windy City Playhouse's third season, starring Theo Allyn ("The Matchmaker" at Goodman Theatre) in the title role as Becky Shaw.

Williamstown Theatre Festival announces the start of their 2017 Season with performances of their first two shows tonight, June 27, and tomorrow, June 28. First up on the Main Stage is Jen Silverman's new play The Roommate (June 27 -July 16). Mike Donahue directs Golden Globe and Emmy award winner S. Epatha Merkerson and Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee Jane Kaczmarek in this absorbing comedy that celebrates unexpected re-invention later in life.

11th Hour Theatre Company's 12th season comes to a close with its final Next Step Concert Series performance. This time the series features a new musical by Nathan Christensen and Scott Murphy, Broadcast.  Broadcast comes to the Next Step Concert Series June 23-25. Steve Pacek, 11th Hour's Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder, directs. Amanda Morton is the Music Director. The Hollywood Bowl has announced the cast and creative team for a benefit performance of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, conceived and directed on Broadway by James Lapine.

Silk Road Rising has announced its 15th Anniversary Season, which includes two world premieres, one U.S. premiere, and three staged reading series. Announcing the season, Founding Artistic Director Jamil Khoury said, "When a new theatre company launches its first season, all hopes are pinned on reaching a second. Then a fifth. Then a tenth season. Each one a milestone in its own right. But the tenth season is seen as a tipping point-from there, the company either begins to power down or commits to longevity. The Festival's theater offerings feature four North American premieres from the U.K., Syria, and Israel, challenging audiences to look backward and forward, while offering perspectives that confront assumptions about human nature.

On Monday, the League of Professional Theatre Women (LPTW), a not-for-profit organization committed to promoting visibility and increasing opportunities for women in the professional theatre, welcomed Tony Award nominated and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paula Vogel, who received this year's Lifetime Achievement Obie Award and whose critically-acclaimed Indecent is nominated for a 2017 Tony Award for Best New Play. Vogel discussed her extensive body of work in theatre, film and TV, with Drama Critic Linda Winer. Second Stage Theater's (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) production of SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER has been extended by one week and will now play through Sunday, June 25.

This Is Not Normal is an arts festival at The Brick. Replete with plays, puppetry and performance works, as well as weekly cabarets and calls to action, the festival aims to remind us of the reality we live in and the reality we are moving towards.
