Playwrights Horizons, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tim Sanford and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, just announced the six productions of its 2016/2017 Season. The six new works will be presented at the theater company's home at 416 West 42nd Street.

In conjunction with its current production of Milk Like Sugar, the Huntington Theatre Company will host a number of special events and post-show conversations. Admission to onsite post-show events is free with a ticket to Milk Like Sugar, available at huntingtontheatre.org/milk-like-sugar, by phone at 617 266 0800, or in person at the BU Theatre (264 Huntington Avenue) and Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA (527 Tremont Street) box offices. Tickets start at $25. Performances begin Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Calderwood Pavilion at the BCA.

AMERICAN PSYCHO, the American premiere of a new musical based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis -- which celebrates the 25th anniversary of its publication this March -- will begin performances on Broadway at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announces the 25th anniversary of the biennial workshop NEW VISIONS/NEW VOICES from May 6 to May 8, 2016. Dedicated to the development of new plays and musicals for young people and their families, this innovative series pioneers a unique forum for the field of theater for young audiences (TYA).

The Old Globe today shared its 2016 Summer Season, which will feature new and familiar works directed by four major American stalwarts. The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) has chosen Julie Taymor as the 2015 recipient of the William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre (Will Award), which recognizes artists who have made significant contributions to classical theatre in America. JM Zell Partners, Ltd. will receive the Sidney Harman Award for Philanthropy in the Arts. Karen Zacarias' new telenovela-inspired comedy Destiny of Desire receives its world premiere at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, kicking off the company's 66th season with dramatic storytelling and comic flair. Zacarias, an inaugural resident playwright of the theater's American Voices New Play Institute whose previous credits include The Book Club Play and Legacy of Light, collaborates with renowned director Jose Luis Valenzuela, Artistic Director of the Latino Theater Company, to bring the Latin-American telenovela genre to life on stage. Destiny of Desire runs September 11-October 18, 2015 in the Kreeger Theater.

According to The New York Times, television star Dylan McDermott has signed on to lead the stage adaptation of Tennessee Williams' 1956 film BABY DOLL at McCarter Theatre in New Jersey this fall. The production will run Sept. 11-October 11.
