Theatr Clwyd today announces full cast for its Christmas pantomime, Dick Whittington - The Purrrrrfect Rock 'N' Roll Panto. Zoe Waterman directs Royce Cronin (King Rhydian the Rat), Toby Falla (Tomos the Cat), Phylip Harries (Sarah the Cook), Daniel Lloyd (Wally Fitzwarren), Alice McKenna (Scratch/Harriet), Peter Mooney (Dick Whittington), Lynwen Haf Roberts (Sultana), Emmy Stonelake (Alice Fitzwarren), Luke Thornton (Sniff/Tom/Guard) and Anna Westlake (Fairy Betty Bowbells). Emerging theatre company Get Out Of My Space, in collaboration with Theatre with Teeth, will be taking over Exeter's historic Poltimore House with new production Umbra, an immersive theatrical experience inspired by Woyzeck, Christian Shaw and the Peaky Blinders opening this May. Stepping inside the crumbling hallways of Poltimore House, audiences will be taken back to 1919 and immersed in a dark world of drinking, religion and organised crime as twisted demonic forces gradually worm their way into the minds of its inhabitants. THE STRANGERER is a darkly hilarious satire of the first debate in the 2004 presidential election between George W. Bush and Jim Kerry, moderated by Jim Lehrer. The Old Globe, together with Children's Theatre Company (CTC), and in partnership with The Old Vic, today announced details for the Minneapolis and San Diego productions of Dr. Seuss's The Lorax in its U.S. premiere. The production, based on the book The Lorax by Dr. Seuss, is adapted for the stage by David Greig (Artistic Director of the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company; recent work: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cover My Tracks) with music and lyrics written by Charlie Fink (Frontman/songwriter for the hit musical group, Noah and the Whale (2007-2015). H. Adam Harris, along with Meghan Kreidler and Rick Miller puppeteering, will play The Lorax. Joining them is Steven Epp as The Once-ler. The Drilling Company, Hamilton Clancy Artistic Director, will present 'Hamlet,' directed by Karla Hendrick and starring Jane Bradley, for its 2018 Shakespeare in the Parking Lot production. Free performances, originally scheduled for July 12 to 28, will now be presented July 19 to 28 in the Parking Lot of The Clemente, 114 Norfolk Street (E. side of Norfolk St. between Delancey and Rivington). The first week's performances had to be foregone due to an unfortunate miscommunication. Fortunately, the executive leadership of The Clemente stepped in and resolved the impasse with The Drilling Company and Shakespeare in the Parking Lot was able to live on. (more...)

This observant, political-but-personal family drama set in 2000 centers on the dynamics of a modern Jewish family in DC's Tenleytown neighborhood. Brought together by their elderly father's 75th birthday, the adult children of the Fischer family squabble over what to do with their long-held and now lucrative 14th Street property, igniting debates on religion, politics, and history.
