Luckily, companies all over the Volunteer State have been hard at work, creating new productions to transform and to transport, shows that will entertain you this summer.

City Lit Theater's 38th season will embrace Chicago's first look in a century at an Irish classic, a rarely done Pulitzer winner performed by a non-traditional cast composed entirely of women over 55, a new adaptation by a three-time Jeff-winning adapter of one of the great 19th Century novels, setting its story in a new time and place; and theCity Lit debuts of both the world's first playwright and Chicago's most esteemed translator, retelling an ancient myth through a cast of human actors and life-sized puppets.

Final casting has been announced for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Mamma Mia!, Friday, July 28, at 8 PM, Saturday, July 29, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 30, at 7:30 PM. The new cast members are Tisha Campbell-Martin as Tanya, Hamish Linklater as Harry and Steven Weber as Bill.

I DO! and more. Demas and Rice have based their show on their 50 years of work and personal relationships with Jones and Schmidt. 

The Other Theatre Company, now rebranded as "Other Theatre," is pleased to announce its 4th season, kicking off this fall with the world premiere of Martin Zimmerman's comedic graphic novel for the stage THE MAKING OF A MODERN FOLK HERO, presented in association with Chicago Dramatists Grafting Project and directed by Kelly Howe.

The world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel gets its London premiere at the Union Theatre, now through Saturday 15 July. Press night is tonight 23 June 2017.

Underbelly Productions have today announced full casting for a brand new production of Clarke Peters' Olivier Award-winning and Tony-Award nominated musical, Five Guys Named Moe. The production will open on 14 September 2017 in a new temporary theatre in Marble Arch, London.
