The season will begin with a South African version of Eugene O'Neill's Desire Under the Elms, as created and performed by Abrahamse and Meyer Productions from Cape Town, South Africa, in partnership with Drexel University's Westphal College of Media Arts & Design and their Performing Arts Department. EgoPo's mainstage season launches with A Human Being Died That Night, a gripping account of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission by psychologist Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela; followed by Three Sisters Two by Reza de Wet, a Chekhov sequel confronting the fall of privileged class; and concluding with two plays in rotation repertory: "Master Harold"…and the Boys by Athol Fugard and Egoli by Matsemela Manaka (co-produced with Theatre in the X), shining a light on two vastly different experiences under apartheid.

Since 2014, the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) has been exploring and promoting virtual reality (VR) as an emerging medium for cinematic storytelling. As part of the NEXT program stream, VIFF will expand its commitment to immersive storytelling–a rapidly evolving sector made up of VR, augmented reality (AR) and mixed reality (MR)–with the inaugural VIFF Immersed conference and public exhibition. This initiative is designed to bring together the creative and technology sectors in order to develop a global destination event that will focus on immersive, entertainment-based storytelling and promote sector growth within BC and across Canada.

Actor Patrick Cassidy, best known for his roles in musical theatre and television, headlines Some Enchanted Evening ~ A Night of Broadway Song & Dance to benefit Inland Pacific Ballet, the professional ballet company based in the Inland Empire. TRUE WEST is a dark, yet humorous play by the late Sam Shepard, one of America's foremost playwrights. Joe Short directs a stellar cast of Nael Nacer, Alexander Platt, Mark Cohen, and Marya Lowry in a story of family dysfunction, dramatic conflict, and sibling rivalry, set in a Southern California suburb where Hollywood and the Mojave Desert compete to influence the lives of a pair of brothers.

Born with Down syndrome, Daniel was institutionalized, and his existence was never acknowledged by his parents. Written by playwright and renowned journalist Bernard Weinraub (The Accomplices, Above the Fold), and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois, Fall runs May 18 - June 16, 2018 at the Huntington's Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts.
