Celebrating the 6th Anniversary of Whitmore Eclectic, Aliah Whitmore directs Sylva Kelegian and Lisa Richards in a revival of Marsha Norman's eloquent, darkly humorous, Pulitzer Prize-winning drama 'night, Mother. The opening is set for tonight, Nov. 1 at The Lost Studio on La Brea Ave.

Rehearsals begin today, Thursday, October 2 in New York City for The River, a new play by Jez Butterworth, starring Hugh Jackman, Laura Donnelly and Cush Jumbo and directed by Ian Rickson. The River begins preview performances in four weeks on Friday, October 31 and will open on Sunday, November 16 at the Circle in the Square Theatre (50th Street between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The production will play a strictly limited 13-week engagement through Sunday, January 25, 2015.

Lantern Theater Company will open its 21st season with a production of Arcadia by Tom Stoppard in an extended five-week run from today, September 25 - November 2, 2014. To coincide with this production, the Lantern will also present In Arcadia: Celebrating Tom Stoppard's Masterpiece, a four-day festival featuring a panel discussion about the play's rich and varied themes with Stoppard expert Toby Zinman, a high tea, special performances of some of Stoppard's rarely-performed short works, and other experiential events from October 23 - 26.

Karen Carpenter, a producer, director and teacher, a theater-maker for more than 30 years, has been appointed the interim Artistic Director of the William Inge Center for the Arts and the 34th Annual William Inge Theatre Festival. The Inge Festival is the Official Theater Festival of the State of Kansas, hosted on the campus of Independence Community College, which houses the William Inge archives.
