Multi-winning director and selected as one of Hollywood's most inspiring female Directors, VICKY JENSON, will be at the helm of Donald Margulies' powerful production of 'TIME STANDS STILL,' featuring an ALL STAR CAST. Opening January 17th, 2015, at The Secret Rose Theatre, North Hollywood.

Now in it's sixth season, The Fire This Time Festival will welcome seven new playwrights into the family, January 19-February 8 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). These playwrights will present an evening of ten-minute plays, each inspired by one of Alex Harsley's original photographs. This year's festival will also feature the World Premiere of Nathan Yungerberg's play Pousada Azul, directed by Russel G. Jones (Father Comes Home from the Wars at The Public). Special events will include a play reading series, an open mic night, a movie screening, and a panel discussion on art and activism. Multiple Grammy Award-winning violinist Mark O'Connor returns to his hometown of Seattle for an evening of music from his album, An Appalachian Christmas, Dec. 21. In describing this program of music, O'Connor says: 'Appalachia is the original melting pot of our country featuring more diverse styles of American music than just about anywhere. Growing up in the O'Connor musical household, Christmas time was a wondrous mixture of Christmas carols, fiddling, bluegrass and other traditional American music. And that is the spirit of An Appalachian Christmas.'

The Public Theater announced a four-week extension for the world premiere musical HAMILTON, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Inspired by the book 'Alexander Hamilton' by Ron Chernow and directed by Thomas Kail, HAMILTON begins performances on Tuesday, January 20 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, February 22. The musical will now run an additional four weeks to Sunday, March 22, with an official press opening on Tuesday, February 17.

Deadline writes that Brian d'Arcy James has joined the cast of Open Road's SPOTLIGHT, directed by Tom McCarthy. James will star alongside Mark Ruffalo, Michael Keaton, Aaron Eckhart, Liev Schreiber, Rachel McAdams and Stanley Tucci in the film, which centers on the Boston Globe's real-life investigation into pedophile priests in the Catholic Church.

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney today announced the appointment of three new members of the artistic staff: Grace Holmes as the new Director of Kansas City Ballet School, Kristi Capps as the new Ballet Master and Anthony Krutzkamp as newly created position of Manager of KCB II. Carney also announced eleven new members of the Company, increasing the Company from 28 to 29 members for the 2014-2015 season. He also announced the appointment of four new KCB II dancers, which stands at six members. Carney also announced the creation of a Trainee Program with five students, two selected from Kansas City Ballet School.
