IMDB News is reporting that Cate Blanchett's new film, Indian Summer, is one step closer to receiving the blessing of Indian film officials and will, therefore, resume production following a final review of the film's plot and script. Indian Summer center's on Lady Edwina Mountbatten's alleged affair with India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Vincent Rivers, presented by Theatre Britain in cooperation with Uptown Players, is now running through Jun. 21 at the KD Studio Theatre, is a story that has at its core a hate-based crime, the murder of a young British male named Vincent River. Where this story departs from the manner hate crimes are dealt with in the country, usually as news sound bites, Vincent River takes an organic journey into the mindset of the parent(s) and their quest to understand who their homosexual child was.

The Canadian Stage Company wraps its 2008.2009 season with Doubt, a parable, the award-winning play that's taken North America by storm. The production stars Canadian theatre icons Seana McKenna (Canadian Stage's The Clean House, Wit) and David Storch (Canadian Stage's Frost/Nixon and director of Palace of the End), and is helmed by renowned director Marti Maraden (Canadian Stage's Trying).

The Elliot Norton Awards, which recognize excellence in Greater Boston theater, celebrated their 27th anniversary on Monday, May 11, at Harvard University's Sanders Theatre. The awards honored the season's best work in Boston's theaters (from April 2008 to March 2009).
