Following an extensive search across disciplines, BMC Prize nominators Peter Cole, Hedy Fischer, Kelly Kivland, Ralph Lemon, Abaseh Mirvali, and Randy Shull selected Ramin Haerizadeh, Rokni Haerizadeh, Hesam Rahmanian as the inaugural recipients of the $20,000 annual grant for international or national artists working in the spirit of Black Mountain College (1933-1957).

 Museum of the Moving Image has announced See It Big: Sondheim, a ten-film series devoted to the celebrated composer, lyricist, author, artist, and all-around innovator Stephen Sondheim. The Shubert Organization has announced plans for a memorial celebration of its former Chairman, Philip J. Smith on Tuesday, March 22 at 1:00pm at the Music Box Theatre, 239 West 45th Street. Mr. Smith passed away on January 15, 2021 at the age of 89.

The release's bonus features will include all-new footage of director Steven Spielberg at work in documentary filmmaker Laurent Bouzereau’s revealing “The Stories of West Side Story.' Although 2021 has been challenging, it becomes clear that there is so much to be grateful for from vaccines to new movie musicals. While Broadway theaters began to open their doors, several streaming services opened their platforms to producing movie musicals. Unlike most years where few if any Broadway musicals were adapted into movies, 2021 was a year like no other with over ten musicals being created for the screen or being adapted from the stage to the screen.
