Milwaukee Repertory Theater announced today that multi-award-winning actor Hollis Resnik will perform the lead role in End of the Rainbow, a theatrical homage to the late, great Judy Garland. An accomplished stage, television and film actor, Resnik brings the depth of acting and musical experience to portray the iconic Garland as well as the emotional intensity and high energy that the role demands. End of the Rainbow runs through March 9 and opens tonight, January 10 on The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse main stage theater.

Riding the successes of Blithe Spirit and The Pajama Game, the Gallery Players presents Equus as the next production of its 47th Season. Alred Gingold* (Manhattan Theatre Club, Metropolitan Playhouse), leads the cast in the behemoth role of Martin Dysart. Joining him are Dean Thomas and Adelind Horan as Alan Strang and Jill Mason, respectively, in their Gallery premieres. Gallery alumni Rosalind Ashford* (Gallery: History Boys) and Greg Horton* (Gallery: A Man of No Importance; NYIT 2012 Outstanding Actor in a Lead Role) will appear once again as Dora and Frank Strang. After leading The History Boys to success last season, Mark Gallagher will again direct aided by Choreographer Christiana Axlesen. The production will be brought to life under Set Designer Young Jaung, Costume Designer Tony Johnson, Lighting Designer Scott Borowka, Sound Designer Jacob Subotnick, Props Designer Sara Slagle, and Production Stage Manager Kathleen Parker. The brewers at Samuel Adams today announced the 2013 batch of Samuel Adams Utopias, the brewery's most renowned barrel-aged, extreme beer and one of the year's most anticipated beer releases. This year marks the first time Samuel Adams brewers have blended Utopias with Samuel Adams Kosmic Mother Funk (KMF), a Belgian-style ale barrel-aged for at least nine months (and up to two years) in Hungarian oak tuns.

Written and performed by two-time Olivier Award-nominated actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner, Potted Potter is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed). The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the details for the 2013 NYFF Convergence, which will run on Saturday, September 28 through Monday, September 30. Building on the success of last year's debut, the second edition of the crowning event for the Film Society of Lincoln Center's year round programming commitment to transmedia will be presented at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center and the Walter Reade Theater with three days of panels, workshops and “immersive experiences.” This year's edition will also feature a special secret event to close out NYFF Convergence that will be announced at a later date.

Children's picture books depicting gay characters have become the most banned books in America. Even so, they have made a mark over the last two decades. Each book moving the genre forward, but never stating or even using the word 'gay' (except once). This avoidance can only continue to teach children that homosexuality is wrong and should be hidden and talked about in hushed tones. George the Gay Lion unashamedly uses the word gay in every way, as the book takes the readers through a coming out story, a search for like-minded individuals, the formation of a new family and the ultimate acceptance of a gay lion. It is the next step in empowering the word gay.

Anthony Rapp has just been announced as joining the cast of If/Then, the new musical by the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning creative team behind Next To Normal, Tom Kitt (music), Brian Yorkey (book and lyrics), and Michael Greif (director). Mr. Rapp joins the previously announced Tony Award-Winners Idina Menzel and LaChanze in the world premiere musical. If/Then will play Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street) in spring 2014, beginning preview performances on Tuesday, March 4, and officially opening on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
