The Amarillo Symphony, the leader of orchestral music in the Texas Panhandle since 1924, announces the upcoming book drive to benefit the Opportunity School in honor of Eddie Melin who's greatest joy was reading to the four-year-olds at the Opportunity School of Amarillo. The Amarillo Symphony's 2015-2016 season is dedicated to Eddie Melin.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Disney Channel is getting ready to return to East High one more time. A nationwide casting search has begin for a planned Disney Channel Original Movie, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 4, that will continue the story of the global sensation HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL - and introduce new East High Wildcats and their cross-town school rivals, the West High Knights.

The Old Globe welcomes Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, making his musical directing debut with RAIN, a sumptuous world premiere musical by one of the most significant teams working in theatre today: composer and lyricist Michael John LaChiusa (The Wild Party, Giant) and book writer Sybille Pearson (Giant). Based on the short story by Somerset Maugham, RAIN will play March 24 - May 1, 2016 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Pianist Kirill Gerstein's world premiere recording of the 1879 version of Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto and Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 16, performed with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and conducted by James Gaffigan, has been nominated for a 2016 BBC Music Magazine Award in the Concerto category.

San Francisco Opera General Director David Gockley and Music Director Nicola Luisotti today announced the Company's 2016–17 Season repertory and roster of international guest artists, conductors and creative teams scheduled to appear at the War Memorial Opera House, as well as initial programming for SF Opera Lab 2017 presentations at the Diane B. Carlo Rizzi is ready to enter an exciting period of work in the New Year. The conductor's 2015/16 season continues in January with a return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago for Matthew Ozawa's new production of Verdi's Nabucco. In Mr. Lucky: The Songs of Henry Mancini, Macauley celebrates the music of the iconic composer. In 1924, Noel Coward was so captivated by the outlandish lifestyle and eccentric personality of Laurette Taylor that he was inspired to write his play HAY FEVER in just three days. The play focuses on the antics of four members of the Bliss family in their country home during a weekend with guests. The Playhouse production of HAY FEVER opens tonight, November 7 and runs through December 5, 2015.
