This summer, the company kicks off its most ambitious undertaking to date:The Figaro Project. On Site Opera will offer lesser-known operatic adaptations of French playwright Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais' (1732-1799) famed trilogy of Figaro plays: The Barber of Seville (1775), The Marriage of Figaro (1784) and The Guilty Mother(1792). The Figaro Project will reacquaint audiences with their favorite Beaumarchais' characters in new and unexpected ways in non-traditional venues across New York City.

Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present staged readings for the New York premiere of I Am, I Will, I Do, a new musical with book, music and lyrics by Dan Manjovi. Directed by Christopher Scott with Musical Direction by Steven Gross, the readings will be held tonight, February 9th at 6pm and tomorrow, February 10th at 3pm & 7pm at Shetler Studios - Penthouse (244 West 54th Street - between Broadway & 8th Avenue).

The Old Globe's West Coast Premiere of The Twenty-seventh Man by award-winning novelist Nathan Englander, directed by Globe Artistic Director Barry Edelstein, will now play an extra week of performances -- through March 22 -- due to ticket demand for the originally announced run. Tony and Emmy Award winner Hal Linden ("Barney Miller," The Rothschilds) leads a cast of Broadway and Globe veterans including Ron Orbach, Robert Dorfman, Eli Gelb, James Shanklin, and Lowell Byers. The Twenty-seventh Man will run February 14 through March 22 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run February 14-18. AOP (American Opera Projects) and Poets House present a discussion with award-winning poet and librettist J. D. McClatchy followed by a reading of his latest opera libretto The Leopard, based on the acclaimed novel by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa and directed by James Robinson. The discussion will be joined by The Leopard's composer Michael Dellaira and will feature a performance of music from the opera-in-development and a mid-event reception with the artists. The event will take place on Saturday, November 8 at 3 pm at Kray Hall in Poets House (10 River Terrace, New York, NY 10282 in Battery Park City).
