The Shanghai Orchestra Academy and Residency Partnership continues this summer with activities on two continents. The New York Philharmonic travels to Shanghai for its fourth annual residency, July 1-7, 2018, with concerts conducted by Music Director Designate Jaap van Zweden and Bramwell Tovey. This follows students from the Shanghai Orchestra Academy traveling to New York City for a week-long immersion in the life of an orchestral musician, June 9-16, 2018, as part of the New York Philharmonic Global Academy Fellowship Program. Starr International Foundation is the Presenting Sponsor of the Shanghai Orchestra Academy and Residency Partnership.

Bowling also took home the 'Fundraising Champion' Award, as the celebrity who raised the most money for the event through ticket sales and donations.

Born and raised in Rome, Roberto Campanella trained at the Scuola Italiana di Danza Contemporanea. In 1985, Roberto joined the Compagnia Italiana di Danza Contemporanea and later joined the prestigious Aterballetto. In 1993 he joined The National Ballet of Canada, where he was soon promoted to soloist and was cast in many classical and contemporary roles.

Continuing a successful UK-wide tour throughout 2018, Oliver Phelps and Deborah Grant will join the cast of The Classic Thriller Theatre Company's The Case of the Frightened Lady. Film star Oliver Phelps will make his stage debut, having played the character of George Weasley in one of the most successful film franchises of all time, Harry Potter. Artistic Director Blake Robison revealed late yesterday new developments in Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's capital building project to replace the current Marx Theatre with a brand-new mainstage theatre complex. The plan was first announced in February 2017. During a meeting with civic leaders at the Queen City Club, an updated plan for the proposed mainstage theatre complex was outlined, and it will allow performances to continue on-site during construction. The new mainstage theatre complex will cost $39.5 million.

The 2018 Dance-mopolitan Artist Series, produced by DANCE NOW, presents Megan Williams Dance Projects in ONE WOMAN SHOW, a post-postmodern dance theater follies for the small stage. Megan Williams finds the roots of her aesthetic DNA in the proto-feminist female archetypes of 30s, 40s and 50s Hollywood and uses them as a lens to view the experience of the 21st-century woman-of a-certain-age. Part memoir, part spectacle, ONE WOMAN SHOW aims to grab the moment and hold on tight. The work features celebrated dance artists Esme Boyce, Robert Mark Burke, Derek Crescenti, Dylan Crossman, John Eirich, Kristen Foote, Chelsea Hecht, Courtney Lopes, and Megan Williams. With costume design by Barbara Erin Delo and sound design by Sam Crawford.
