Rifco Sets Full Cast of LAILA: THE MUSICAL

Rifco Artistic Director Pravesh Kumar today announces the full cast for the world premiere of Laila: The Musical. Kumar directs Reece Bahia, Ravin J Ganatra, Mona Goodwin, Kush Khanna, Sami Lamine, Sheena Patel, Vedi Roy, Shin and Yinka Williams in the production which opens at Watford Palace Theatre on 7 April. Laila then tours to The New Wolsey Theatre, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Warwick Arts Centre, Queen's Theatre Hornchurch, Theatre Royal Windsor and The Lowry.

Chattanooga Symphony & Opera to Perform SIDE-BY-SIDE Concert, 2/28

Chattanooga, TN – The Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) and the CSO Youth Orchestras (CSOYO) present a unique event, featuring not only two of the youth orchestras in concert (Symphony and Philharmonic), but also the CSO Orchestra and the CSOYO Symphony combined. Giving students the chance to play alongside professional musicians provides invaluable musical education opportunities for the up-and-coming musicians. This event will provide CSOYO students a chance to learn more about their craft by working alongside the CSO musicians on classical masterworks by popular composers such as Rossini and Liszt. Featured in the program are the top two winners of the 2015 CSOYO Concerto Competition, Hannah Eitzen and Sasha Hitachi-Kizziah. Josh Holritz, CSO Associate Concertmaster and CSOYO alumnus, will also be featured.

Joining the impressive list of vocal talent, actor/writer Jim Gaffigan has been cast in one of the film's leading roles and will voice the rebellious but lovable goose Peng. Legendary director/writer/actor Carl Reiner will voice Larry, a venerable, wise and loyal friend who happens to be a turtle.

Hailed by The New York Times as an 'extraordinarily moving drama' that 'brims with the kind of ripe, richly imagined life associated with the work of the great August Wilson,' the play is directed by Nottage's longtime collaborator Kate Whoriskey and runs January 15-February 21, 2016 in the Kreeger Theater.

Maisie Williams guest-stars as 'The Girl Who Died,' in tonight's episode of DOCTOR WHO. Maisie plays Ashildr, a Viking girl who's village is attacked by the Mire, some of the galaxy's best warriors. There was a lot of speculation as to who Maisie would play and the importance of the character, and though not what people guessed, Ashildr does become a very important character by the end of this episode.
