Wolfe Releasing has announced today that it has acquired writer director Yen Tan's 1985, starring Cory Michael Smith (FOX's 'Gotham'), Academy Award nominee Virginia Madsen (Sideways), Emmy and Golden Globe winner Michael Chiklis ('The Shield') and Jamie Chung (FOX's 'The Gifted' and ABC's 'Once Upon a Time'), for a theatrical release this October. The Texas-set family drama had its World Premiere at the 2018 SXSW Film Festival, where it was praised as 'a miracle of a film' (Film School Rejects), 'a poignant, even provocative meditation on a part of LGBTQ history' (The Daily Beast), 'a deeply emotional tearjerker and family story... that earns its tears honestly and scrupulously' (The Wrap) and 'a model of eloquent restraint' (The Hollywood Reporter).

A one-hour special from the James Beard Foundation (JBF) and Intersport, “JBFA: Stories from the 2018 James Beard Awards,” showcasing the prestigious James Beard Awards for culinary excellence in a way that has never been seen before on network television – through the lens of a documentarian – will premiere on The ABC Television Network, SUNDAY, JUNE 24 (4:00–5:00 p.m. EDT/3:00–4:00 p.m. PDT).

Out On Screen is proud to present the 30th annual Vancouver Queer Film Festival (VQFF) this summer from Thursday, August 9th to Sunday, August 19th. The Artistic Home Ensemble will present the Chicago premiere of Lauren Gunderson's ADA AND THE ENGINE as the final entry in its three-play 2018-19 season, according to company Artistic Director Kathy Scambiatterra, who announced the season today. The 36-year-old Gunderson was the most-produced playwright in America during 2017, according to American Theatre Magazine.

In the annals of jazz history, few events have been more influential than the Jazz at the Philharmonic concert series, and the album series of the same name. From 1944 to 1957, pioneering impresario, Verve Records founder, Norman Granz organized a series of prestigious all-star concerts that featured a who's-who of the genre's most popular and influential artists. These shows were instrumental in raising jazz's public profile, and were among the first high-profile performances to feature racially mixed bands performing for integrated audiences.

On the eve of the premiere of GENIUS: PICASSO on Tuesday April 24, National Geographic announced today that the third season of its acclaimed scripted anthology series will bring to life the myth maker and towering literary figure Mary Shelley. From Fox 21 Television Studios, the new season will again be executive produced by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard's Imagine Entertainment, MWM Studios and EUE/Sokolow, and will premiere globally on National Geographic in 172 countries and 43 languages in 2019. The first season of GENIUS was watched by more than 45 million people around the world, and was National Geographic's best performing new series launch ever.

It was just announced by Pulitzer Prize Administrator Dana Canedy that Martyna Majok's COST OF LIVING has officially won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Following the announcement of kicking off Opening Night with the world premiere of Steven Tyler's documentary OUT ON A LIMB, the Nashville Film Festival continues its lineup for the ten-day festival (May 10-19, 2018) with the announcement of 48 additional feature films in Narrative, Documentary, New Directors and Graveyard Shift competitions. Capturing the essence of today's most relevant social issues, historical stories and more, these 48 films hail from China, South Africa, Netherlands, Denmark, India, France and more, as well as 31 from the U.S. A jury of industry professionals will select the winning films that will take home up to $20,000 in cash and prizes.

Originally released in 1985, Centerfield was John Fogerty's third solo album and reached No.1 in the US, going multi-platinum. It features the perennial baseball season favorite, “Centerfield”, and the Top 10 Hot 100 hit, “The Old Man Down the Road”. On April 6, just in time for the baseball season's opening week, BMG will reissue this fan favorite on vinyl featuring the original cover art, gatefold LP opening to reveal a bird's eye view of a classic baseball field, with Centerfield painted in the grass. The LP will include the original nine tracks with a download card to access the two bonus tracks from the 2010 release. The CD features digipak packaging with the full 11 tracks (nine from the original release + two bonus tracks from 2010).

Radiohead has confirmed a summer 2018 North American tour. The newly announced dates begin July 7in Chicago and conclude August 1 in Philadelphia. The new U.S. and Canada shows extend the world tour in support of the band's latest album A Moon Shaped Pool (XL Recordings), and are the band's first North American appearances since spring 2017.

The acclaimed program draws thousands of fans, filmmakers, press, and industry leaders every year to immerse themselves in the most innovative, smart and entertaining new films of the year.

On February 23, Woodstock-based artists The Weight Band will release their first full-length studio album World Gone Mad featuring original tracks, guest vocals and slide guitar from Jackie Greene on a cover of a Jerry Garcia-Robert Hunter song, and writing contributions from the late Levon Helm on previously unreleased songs.
