Smuin Ballet returns with what has become an essential holiday tradition for Bay Area families: Smuin's annual The Christmas Ballet. With equal parts sugar and spice, offering something for both the naughty and nice, this ever-changing carousel of mischief and elegance includes something for everyone, from ballet, tap, and swing to a wealth of other dances drawn from holiday traditions from around the world. This edition of The Christmas Ballet will include new choreography from Smuin's acclaimed Choreographer-in-Residence Amy Seiwert and another exciting addition by Smuin dancer Nicole Haskins. Proclaimed 'the freshest show in town' by the San Francisco Chronicle, The Christmas Ballet will tour the Bay Area, beginning with shows in Walnut Creek (November 20-21), continuing in Carmel (December 4-5), and Mountain View (December 9-13), and finishing up with its annual holiday run at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco (December 17-27). The Jewish Museum's 2015 slate of lectures, discussions, and events continues in July with a concert featuring violinist Todd Reynolds, part of the Museum's partnership with Bang on a Can; a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the exhibition, Repetition and Difference, with curators Susan L. Braunstein and Daniel S. Palmer; and Alexander Tochilovsky of Cooper Union discussing graphic design-related materials in the exhibition, Revolution of the Eye: Modern Art and the Birth of American Television. In addition, the Whitney Museum of American Art and Cooper Union are co-presenting programs related to Revolution of the Eye.

PANSY DIVISION - the trailblazing queer rock/punk band - will bring their bold, brash and witty songs back to New York for the first time in six years when they headline a special Pride concert at The Bowery Electric (327 Bowery) on Friday, June 26. For the group will preview new material from their upcoming album with the current lineup: Chris Freeman (bass, vocals), Jon Ginoli (rhythm guitar, vocals), Luis Illades (drums) and Joel Reader (lead guitar, vocals). PANSY DIVISION will be joined on the bill by the goth dance band Bottoms and power pop group Youthquake. The show is produced by Pansy Division and Dan Fortune.

A bright and bold poster designed by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo was unveiled by General Director Nigel Redden as the official 2015 Spoleto Festival USA poster today. Nespolo is the set and costume designer for Spoleto Festival USA's production of Francesco Cavalli's opera Veremonda l'amazzone di Aragona, which will have its American premiere-and first performances in over 350 years-at this year's Festival, running May 22 through June 7 in Charleston, South Carolina.
