Following the recent announcement of her inaugural season as Artistic Director of Gate Theatre, Ellen McDougall today announces two new Associates joining the Gate - Jude Christian, and Anthony Simpson-Pike. Former Associate Director Lynette Linton also re-joins the team as Director of the Young Associates programme.

Tiny Dynamite is thrilled to announce that Kathryn MacMillan will be assuming the role of Producing Artistic Director of Tiny Dynamite, effective July 2017. Current Producing Artistic Director, Emma Gibson, will step down from the position after her work on the production of Perfect Blue that will run from July 14 - 23rd at Christ Church Neighborhood House.

The Artistic Home will follow up its highly acclaimed and Jeff recommended production of By the Bog of Cats - a contemporary Irish take on Medea - with a much cheerier updating of a classic. Their summer production for 2017 will be David Ives' comedy in verse, The School for Lies. As Ives did with The Liar, his 'translaptation' of Corneille's Le Menteur, he honors the French 17th Century practice of writing in verse, but uses contemporary language even as he maintains the Moliere play's original setting of Paris in 1666.

FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training proudly announces casting for the inaugural season of Dog Days Theatre, a new theater project offering smart, contemporary works just light enough for the dog days of summer. Each summer, Dog Days Theatre will feature two plays mounted in the Cook Theatre, located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, using professional actors, directors and designers from the community and around the country along with the talents of the Conservatory's graduate students.

Continuing its acclaimed 55th season, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey will begin performances of The Bungler on July 5. Translated by Richard Wilbur, Moliere's giddy, side-splitting romp will be directed by STNJ's Brian B. Crowe. The play highlights Moliere at his frothiest and silliest as it follows the hilarious adventures of a clueless young lover and his clever servant attempting to help him win the heart and hand of a beautiful gypsy girl.

The Saint Mary's College Department of Communication Studies, Dance, and Theatre is proud to welcome writer, comedian, and actress Casey Whitaker to campus as this year's Margaret M. Hill Endowed Visiting Artist in Residence. Whitaker is a member of Second City improvisational troupe, who spent a week on campus in March 2015 as part of the Margaret M. Hill Endowed Visiting Artist series. Whitaker is directing Saint Mary's theatre students in the spring production, a play titled Lucky, Liar, Loser, which she wrote herself. The play will run April 27-30 in Little Theatre.

Under the direction of Bob Cline, the musical stars Diego Klock-Perez (Usnavi), Mili Diaz (Nina), Kalyn West (Vanessa), Daniel Yearwood Benny), and Debra Cardona (Abuela Claudia). The music and lyrics of IN THE HEIGHTS are by a little-known composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (whom I refer to as 'Shakespeare Nouveau'), and the book by Quiara Alegria Hudes.
