LA Stage Alliance Nominated Actress and New Times Winner, Best Actress Susan Claassen stars in the Bay Area premiere of "A Conversation With Edith Head" at Pear Theatre from December 7 through 16. The internationally acclaimed show, based on EDITH HEAD'S HOLLYWOOD by Edith Head and Paddy Calistro, is a feast of delicious behind-the-scenes stories about Hollywood's greatest stars that provide an intimate portrait of Hollywood's legendary costume designer. "A Conversation With Edith Head" previews on December 6, with press and Opening Night on Friday, December 7 (followed by a champagne gala). Widely known as the godfather of music photography, the late Jim Marshall maintained a 50-year career that resulted in more than 500 album covers, an abundance of magazine covers, and some of the most celebrated images in blues, jazz, country, and rock and roll, including those from Johnny Cash's notable Folsom and San Quentin prison concerts. To showcase these powerful snapshots of a legendary musician by a legendary photographer, the GRAMMY Museum® proudly presents The Prison Concerts: Folsom And San Quentin (Jim Marshall's Photographs Of Johnny Cash), a new exhibit showcasing Marshall's photos from Cash's historic prison concerts in 1968 and 1969 featured in the art book Johnny Cash At Folsom & San Quentin. The exhibit will open on Oct. 23, when Amelia Davis, Jim Marshall's longtime assistant and the sole beneficiary of his estate; John Carter Cash, Johnny Cash's son; and Scott Bomar, author of Johnny Cash At Folsom & San Quentin; will discuss the stories behind these photographs at the Clive Davis Theater as part of the Museum's An Evening With program moderated by GRAMMY Museum Artistic Director Scott Goldman. The exhibit will run through February 2019.

On August 26, 1968, two weeks after releasing his civil rights anthem, 'Say It Loud - I'm Black And I'm Proud,' James Brown recorded his concert at Dallas, Texas' Memorial Auditorium. First released on CD in 1998, Brown's Say It Live and Loud: Live in Dallas 08.26.68 album will make its vinyl debut in an expanded 2LP 50 th Anniversary Edition, to be released October 12 by Republic/UMe. The album's new, expanded digital edition will be released on the same date.

Sony Classical announces the September 7, 2018 US release of Birgit Nilsson: The Great Live Recordings, a 31-CD set celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Swedish soprano. This limited edition brings together a collection of outstanding live recordings from the main centers of Nilsson's brilliant career: the Met in New York, the Bayreuth Festival, the Vienna State Opera, plus rarities from her concerts in Stockholm.  All the recordings were newly remastered in 2017 from the original analogue tapes.

London Classic Theatre today announces the full company for their UK tour of Charlotte Keatley's My Mother Said I Never Should. Artistic Director of LCT, Michael Cabot, directs Felicity Houlbrooke (Rosie Metcalfe), Fiz Marcus (Doris Partington), Kathryn Ritchie (Jackie Metcalfe) and Connie Walker (Margaret Bradley). The production tours to 14 venues, opening at Theatre Royal Windsor on 25 September with performances at Queen's Hall Arts Centre, Hexham, Theatre Royal, Bury St Edmunds and Gala Theatre, Durham from 11 September.

Elvis Presley's legendary "'68 Comeback Special," directed and produced by Steve Binder, will hit the big screen this summer in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The two-day cinema event will take place across the globe on August 16, with an encore screening on August 20. Each screening will include the legendary television special, plus an exclusive look at the making of the special, featuring a walkthrough of the NBC soundstage with insights from Binder and others influenced by Presley, his music, and this iconic event.
