This hour-long musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel has quickly become a Philadelphia tradition. The magic returns November 28th and runs through December 20th on Walnut Street Theatre's Mainstage.

Open Stage of Harrisburg is proud to bring back a Harrisburg tradition! For eleven years, OSH produced their own adaptation of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, penned by Edward Alsedek. After a four year hiatus, A CHRISTMAS CAROL will return for a one night only staged reading. The reading will be on Sunday, December 7 at 7:00pm. A reception will follow.

Donations to the nonprofit will result in raffle entries and the mood will be festive and bright. Everyone 21+ who loves books is invited to join the festivities.

I was intrigued as soon as I heard that Director Eve Muson was bringing the show to a professional company. My sense was that Muson felt she could build a better product on the same platform of stars, costume and set. She was right. The end product is a modern historical tragedy that obviously speaks directly to contemporary racial and gender issues but also past them to the human condition, as all great tragedy does.
