Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of Dan Cody's Yacht, a new play written by Anthony Giardina and directed by Tony Award winner Doug Hughes. Rehearsals for the production begin tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17.

A.D. Players, one of Houston's oldest and largest resident theatre companies, is now A.D. Players at The George, led by Executive Director Jake Speck and Interim Artistic Director Kevin Dean. The theatre company hosted its first-ever fundraising gala on Saturday, March 24. More than 450 guests enjoyed a Gatsby-themed evening of food, drink and entertainment. The non-profit raised nearly $200,000, which the company will use to support the Gift of Theatre Fund, The A.D. Players' Performing Arts Academy and A.D. Players' Special Populations Program.

ASCAP, The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the world leader in performing rights and advocacy for music creators, will present acclaimed musician Lana Del Rey with its ASCAP Global Impact Award at the 35 th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards on Monday, April 23 rd in Los Angeles. The same evening, ASCAP will also recognize Grammy-winning rock bandPortugal. The Man with the ASCAP Vanguard Award. Starting next month, Book-It Repertory Theatre is hosting Literature to Life/Young Audiences of New York to present a stage adaptation of The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. This 2008 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel written by Junot Diaz was adapted and directed for the stage byElise Thoron and will be performed by Elvis Nolasco ("American Crime", "She's Gotta Have It"). This collaboration across the coasts is the first time Book-It has hosted another company in its 28-year history.

According to Engadget, Netflix's first blockbuster film Bright has scored big with viewers. Nielsen figures found that 11 million viewers streamed the film in its first few days (compare to Stranger Things 2 number 15.8 million). Netflix has allegedly already approved a sequel to the film despite mixed reviews from critics.
