Congregation Rodeph Shalom presents four-time Tony Award nominee Tovah Feldshuh starring in a one-night only play reading of DANCING WITH GIANTS on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. at Congregation Rodeph Shalom, 615 N. Broad Street in Philadelphia. The play was written and will be directed by Tovah's brother, David Feldshuh, a Pulitzer Prize finalist for MISS EVERS' BOYS. The performance is one of the centerpiece events of the synagogue's year-long 90th Anniversary celebration of its sanctuary and is supported by First Trust Bank.

The Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has announced its full schedule for the fifth annual celebration spotlighting the brilliance of legendary novelist Philip K. Dick. Pushing the boundaries of storytelling through remarkable feature and short films and virtual reality, the festival will be held October 25-26 at L'Hybride and Inoui in Lille, France and November 1-2 at Film Club 813 e.V. in Cologne, Germany.

Telluride Film Festival, presented by the National Film Preserve, today announced its official program selections for the 45th edition of the Telluride Film Festival. TFF's celebration of artistic excellence brings together cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in world cinema in the beautiful mountain town of Telluride, Colorado. Martin Heidegger and Hannah Arendt were leading intellectuals of the twentieth century. In the 1920's, they had a passionate affair. In the 1930's, Heidegger became an ardent Nazi while Arendt became an ardent Zionist. Nevertheless, after the war, they still continued to correspond and to meet. Douglas Lackey dramatizes their relationship in 'Arendt-Heidegger: A Love Story,' a five-character play to be presented by Theater for the New City from September 27 to October 14. Its dialogue and action go beyond known facts, but everything in the play is consistent with them. Alexander Harrington directs.

"A Tempo, Il Soldato & Friends" global benefit tour will make a special stop in Raleigh for a memorable evening in support of the Columbus Children Foundation. For the past several summers, I have attended the Festival of Arts and The Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. But this year, I also decided to also visit two other art festivals along Laguna Canyon Road rather than spend any time cruising the town as I had done before. The full-day of exploring all the artistic delights on display this year at all three locations left me dazzled by all the talent on display, while wishing I had lot of extra income to purchase and bring home many of the awe-inspiring items that caught my fancy. But the real highlight of the day was viewing the abundance of 'local color' on display in this summer's 'Under the Sun' themed Pageant of the Masters.

Extra, extra. Read all about it! Mercer County Community College's (MCCC's) Kelsey Theatre has announced its blockbuster schedule for 2018-19. The curtain goes up on Kelsey's 45th season Sept. 6 with the award-winning musical 'Newsies,' followed by other major musicals, dramas, comedies, and shows for the entire family. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC's West Windsor Campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. Kelsey Theatre is wheelchair accessible with free parking next to the theater.

Returning for its fourth year, Emerging Music Festival (EMF) features ten on-the-rise indie rock, pop, blues, and soul bands performing for thousands on the Bryant Park lawn. Almost all artists hail from the greater New York area, making EMF one of the city's largest celebrations of young local bands. Between sets, attendees can purchase beer and wine, eat food from local vendors curated by Hester Street Fair, borrow a free picnic blanket, learn to juggle, and play giant lawn games.

Kicking off its 2017/18 Season: Survival Instincts, Constellation Theatre Company will present screenings of the 1920 German expressionist horror film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari from August 9-13 at Source, located at 1835 14th Street NW, Washington, DC. Helen Hayes Award-winning percussionist Tom Teasley will reveal the horror of the Cabinet as he performs his original score live at every screening to complement this classic silent film. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is the third installment in Constellation's ongoing silent film series featuring Tom Teasley, following The Adventures of Prince Achmed in 2015 and Metropolis in 2016. The debut of New York's newest neo-vaudeville/indie folk trio, Dirty Mae, kicks off with an exotic evening of magic, music and mystery during July's most mischievous weekend. A speakeasy event to unveil their self-titled freshman EP, their music captures an old world feel with a new world edge, while exploring influences of New Orleans ghost folk and playful raucous riffs. A full immersive experience, steeped in the nostalgia of the 1920's, guests will enter with a secret password at the front door for an evening of wizardry, eye gazing, a burlesque performance by the acclaimed Pearls Daily, an appearance by The Manhattan Mermaid, and Mia Julep, tarot card readings and other surprises.

Ching-Yun Hu, Founder and Director of the Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy (PYPA), announced the dates of their sixth annual artist and student concerts that are open to the public. Throughout the eight-day event, highly respected pianists such as Ching-Yun Hu, Simone Dinnerstein, Charles Abramovic, and Jerome Lowenthal will be performing. The festival will be held at the Academy of Vocal Arts, which is located at 1920 Spruce Street, Philadelphia from August 4 to August 12.
