Bivouac did everything a 3-piece alternative rock band from Derby, who grew up on a steady diet of Husker Du, Sonic Youth and The Pixies, could dream of doing in the nineties. They released a string of records on cool indie label Elemental, recorded sessions for John Peel, played with Fugazi and Jesus Lizard, danced onstage with Nirvana, signed to a major label and split up. They'd began in 1992 and were over by 1996, but in that brief period, Bivouac crafted some essential, skewed and fuzzy tuneage that has endured and lingered on the cult fringes of alternative rock, remember fondly by those that were there as the band got on with the rest of their lives.

This Friday San Francisco-based band NRVS LVRS will release their latest single 'Whatever & Ever.' The single follows up the band's acclaimed album Electric Dread. 'Whatever & Ever' premiered today at Pancakes & Whiskey and will be available on all digital streaming services this Friday. 'Whatever & Ever' looks at our dissatisfaction with living in a perpetual stream of apocalyptic news, unsolicited opinions, and curated personal brands. Recorded in Los Angeles with Eric Palmquist (Wavves, Night Riots), the song asks if the empty dopamine hit from each new notification is making us 'dumber / or maybe just distracted' and makes the case for resignedly dancing through the end times. With synthesizers glitching & gurgling beneath him, A. Gomez' wounded baritone invites us to consider the possibility that nobody was ever in charge & the party is winding down. NRVS LVRS have also announced a west coast tour which kicks off on Friday in Reno at The Loving Cup. All upcoming shows are listed below.

For more than a half century, William Shatner has been synonymous with pop culture. From his international breakout role of 'Captain Kirk' in the original 'Star Trek' series-and its numerous incarnations-to famed 'T.J. Hooker' in the 1980's up to the 'Priceline' pitchman of today, Shatner has thrilled millions in his varied career as an award-winning actor, director, producer, writer, recording artist, and horseman. One of Hollywood's most recognizable figures will also be the headliner in the inaugural Wizard World Comic Con Boise (set for July 13-15) at the Boise Centre West this summer, when he appears on Sunday, July 15, when he will greet fans, sign autographs, pose for photo ops and conduct an interactive fan Q&A.
