?Broadway Training Center of Westchester, one of the region's premier performing arts schools, will present the magical musical 'Mary Poppins' November 20-22 at the Irvington Town Hall Theater in Irvington, N.Y.

The New York Philharmonic will present Rachmaninoff: A Philharmonic Festival, tonight, November 10-28, 2015, featuring 24-year-old Russian pianist Daniil Trifonov performing three of the composer's piano concertos and the Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini over the course of three consecutive all-Rachmaninoff programs, each led by a different conductor: Cristian Macelaru (in his Philharmonic debut), Neeme Jarvi, and Ludovic Morlot.

The Aviva Players will begin its 40th season tonight, October 16 with 'Songs, Piano Rags & Chamber Music by Women Composers, including the Piano Trio by Fanny Mendelssohn,' the first installment of a three-part concert series at Opera America, 330 Seventh Ave.  The concert will include piano rags by May Frances Aufderheide, Irene Giblin and Adeline Shepard; songs by Mira J. Spektor, and 'Vocal Duets' and 'The Piano Trio' by Fanny Mendelssohn.  The evening is presented in conjunction with Downtown Music Productions.

DOUBLE DOOR debuted on Broadway in 1933, with a subsequent play by Elizabeth McFadden, debuting on Broadway in 1945. This later version is currently being presented at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills as the second production of their 2015-2016 season. The lighthearted musical has a six-week run starting tonight, Sept. 9, through Oct. 18. 'Nunsense' received the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Music and Best Off-Broadway Musical.

The program's centerpiece is Rachmaninoff's virtuosic showpiece—the achingly beautiful, grand and lyrical Piano Concerto No. 2, performed by Olga Kern. Born in Russia to a family of musicians with direct links to both Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, the captivating pianist was the first woman in 30 years to win the Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (2001). Led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, the concert opens with enchanting ballet music including excerpts from Tchaikovsky's “The Sleeping Beauty” and Stravinsky's shimmering Suite from “The Firebird.” Summer Festival 2015 comes to a dramatic close with an electrifying display of fireworks and 16 cannon shots in Tchaikovsky's victorious “1812” Overture, featuring the Huntington Beach Concert Band, which also provides pre-concert entertainment.

True story: in 1953, iconic L.A. architects Richard Neutra and Rudolph Schindler, onetime friends and business partners who had been bitterly estranged for 23 years, found themselves, by a vagary of fate, occupying the same hospital room in Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA presents a site-specific production in which playwright/director Tom Lazarus imagines what might have transpired during that reunion. Ray Xifo and John Nielsen star as Neutra and Schindler, with Heather Robinson in the role of Nurse Rothstein. The world premiere of The Princes of Kings Road opens on Sept 12 for a four-week run at the architecturally significant Neutra Institute and Museum of Silverlake.

Bobby's Burger Palace (BBP) has opened its doors at Towson Square in Towson, Maryland, serving up the specialty burgers, French fries and milkshakes that the restaurant is known for. This location marks the 19th BBP outpost in the country and the fourth location in Maryland. Ophelia's Jump Productions presents the Annual Midsummer Shakespeare Festival with TWELFTH NIGHT and TITUS ANDRONICUS.
