Portland Center Stage Announces Casting for THE IMAGINARY INVALID, Opens 1/14

With gaseous energy and outrageous jokes, the first rehearsals of The Imaginary Invalid at Portland Center Stage are underway, in a new adaptation by Constance Congdon of the classic comedy by Molière. The Imaginary Invalid previews on Tuesday, January 11, 2011, with opening night set for January 14, and performances through February 6. Performance times are Tuesday through Sunday, 7:30 pm, with matinees at 2:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday, and some Thursday matinees at noon. Tickets start at $33 for full adult prices, with student and under age 30 discounts available. Rush tickets may be available for some performances at $20 each. Make a date with 'America's Romantic Piano Sensation' this Valentine's Day as Grammy-nominated Jim Brickman brings his greatest hits to the Aronoff Center's Procter and Gamble Hall on Monday, February 14 at 8:00 PM. Jim will be joined by two special guests - vocalist Anne Cochran and electric violinist Tracy Silverman. With their unique warmth and humor, Jim and his guests will take fans on a musical journey, playing such hits as 'Valentine,' 'Love of My Life,' 'If You Believe,' 'Never Alone,' and more! The show is part of the Cincinnati Arts Association's 2010-11 'Let's Play' Season.

Joseph V. Melillo, executive producer of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, today announced programming for the BAM 2011 Spring Season, which runs from Jan 7 through Jun 11, 2011. The season comprises eight theater, opera, and dance engagements and features BAMcinématek series, BAMcafé Live weekend music events, artist talks, visual art exhibitions, and literary events.
