Every year, more than 44,900 people die by suicide in the United States, making suicide the 10th leading cause of death in this country. In an effort to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention, Tony Nominated Actor Bryce Pinkham will be running the New York City Marathon on November 4, for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's New York City Chapter.

11th Hour Theatre Company brings its consistently sold out concert series back home and as the series begins its 2018-2019 season it has grown. 11th Hour's Next Step Concert Series is now set to run over two weekends. They begin their season with a concert performance of Grey Gardens. Grey Gardens features Music by Scott Frankel, Lyrics by Michael Korie and a Book by Doug Wright. 11th Hour Theatre Company Associate Artistic Director and Co-Founder Steve Pacek directs. Amanda Morton is the Music Director. Grey Gardens runs October 6-14. The official Media Opening is Sunday, October 7 at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $36 (which includes a $4 service fee). $19 tickets are available online for Students and Industry. After Iphigenia, their last production at the Volksbuhne, playwright Mohammad al-Attar and director Omar Abusaada, both hailing from Syria, continue their reflections on their homeland's devastating upheavals. The Factory, a co-production with the Ruhrtriennale, is making its Berlin debut on 27 September. Al-Attar and Abusaada developed the piece together with a group of Syrian actors: Lina Murad, Ramzi Choukair, Saad Al Ghefari and Mustafa Kur. Together they deconstruct one of the most disturbing aspects of the war: the alliance between money and power.

Written by Milta Ortiz, who penned 2015's award winning Mas, about the banning of ethnic studies classes in T.U.S.D., Sanctuary is based on the people and events leading up to the 1980's Sanctuary movement that ignited in Tucson when concerned citizens took a radical moral stand in support of people fleeing unimaginable violence.

In the days of Yugoslavia their differing ethnicities was accepted as a norm in the cosmopolitan city of Sarajevo. Told through the lens of an ambitious South African conflict journalist who infiltrates their lives we follow the slow but steady decline of a lifelong friendship. Theirs is a story known to many Yugoslavs who were separated from one another and who turned on each other during a senseless war. It is a story known to people all over the world who are torn apart because of race, religion and the mass media that use war as their fodder.

Featuring 15 instruments, 25 songs, and comprised almost entirely of Guthrie's own words, Woody Sez runs August 1-26 on the Leonard C. Haas Stage in Malvern.
