The York Theatre Company and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series kicks off the summer with Janet Brenner co-producing Fiction In Photographs, an original musical conceived and directed by Randy Redd, with Book by Dan Elish and Music & Lyrics by Dan Mills. With music direction by Adam Podd, the five-member cast will feature Cole Burden, Van Hughes, David Larsen, Lauren Pritchard and Ali Stroker. The By-Invitation-Only, one performance presentation is set for today, June 13, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. (The reading will not be held at The York Theatre Company.)

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, tonight, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

The Play Company's Idea Lab, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut New York and the German Consulate New York, is proud to present a public event featuring internationally acclaimed German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig, in conjunction with our New York premiere production of his play THE GOLDEN DRAGON. Mr. Schimmelpfennig will discuss his award-winning play THE GOLDEN DRAGON, his larger body of work, and trends in German theatre today, May 12 @ 4:15pm -- immediately following the 3pm matinee performance of THE GOLDEN GRAGON at The New Ohio Theatre, 154 Christopher Street. This open conversation will be moderated by Dr. Frank Hentschker, Executive Director of the Martin E. Segal Theatre Center at the CUNY Graduate Center.

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes back Kneehigh and director Emma Rice for the New York premiere of The Wild Bride. In this adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale 'The Girl Without Hands,' narrated by Satan himself, a father accidentally sells his daughter to the Devil. When our heroine cleverly escapes, a lyrical love story laced with devilish humor unfolds. The production features a bluegrass score by longtime Kneehigh composer Stu Barker, performed by live musicians and the cast.
