Veteran Broadway press agents Jim Byk and Shane Marshall Brown have created The Press Room, a new theatrical and entertainment publicity office now open in New York City. Founders Byk and Brown are joined by publicist Kelly Guiod, who serves as Vice President for the company.

Collaboraction will reunite 200+ Chicago artists involved in the creation of this year's third annual PEACEBOOK Festival for a one-day-only, marathon celebration showcase of more than 20 world premiere short works about peace Sunday, October 7 at The Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Avenue in Bucktown.

In this chew-and-spit industry, theSpin Doctors are the last men standing, still making music like their lives depend on it, still riding the bus, still shaking the room. They've never been a band for backslaps and self-congratulation. Even now, plans are afoot for a seventh studio album and another swashbuckling world tour, adding to their tally of almost two thousand shows. But faced with that milestone, even a band of their velocity takes a breath for reflection. “I'd never have guessed,” admits drummer Aaron Comess, “this would have turned into thirty years of making great music together.”

Suicide Generation is a punk band from the United Kingdom and a classic-sounding punk band at that. But to get an idea of their sound you're going to need to skip the lighthearted sounds of the Buzzc*cks and Sex Pistols for the grimy, gritty punk bred south of the Mason-Dixon line. Think Lost Sounds/Jay Reatard or the Oblivions — snotty vocals, hyper-speed blues riffs, and over-caffeinated drumming.  Kentucky Music Hall of Fame members, Steve Goetzman, Marlon Hargis, J.P. Pennington, Sonny LeMaire and Les Taylor - better known as the crossover hit-making band, Exile, are celebrating a distinguished career and anniversary of 55 years as a self-contained vocal band. On Friday, May 11, the band was surprised with a special honor at the 2018 Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony for reaching the unprecedented milestone. The band previously had received the highest honor bestowed by the organization in 2013, when they were inducted as members of the prestigious hall. The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2018, which opens on June 9 and continues for two weeks through June23 in New Haven, Connecticut.

dick clark productions and NBC today announced nominees for the "2018 Billboard Music Awards," which will honor the year's most successful artists in 57 categories of music.  Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran lead the pack with 15 nominations each, followed by Post Malone with 13, Imagine Dragons with 11, Drake with 9 and Justin Bieber and Cardi B with 8. The "2018 Billboard Music Awards" will broadcast LIVE coast to coast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on NBC.

TILTED WINDMILLS THEATRICALS (John Arthur Pinckard & David Carpenter) will present OVERHEARD AT JOE'S - the interactive, improvisational, theatre experience set in your local bar, created by Christian Kelty - at McHale's Bar and Grill (251 West 51st Street) starting on Sunday, April 22. Every performance includes a special musical guest; Michelle Shocked, the Grammy Award-nominated singer/songwriter, will be featured through Tuesday, May 1.

Broadway favorites Ben Fankhauser, Paige Faure, Corey Mach, and Sydney Morton are among the artists headed to the Ridgefield Playhouse on May 14 to sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the Stevie Wonder, accompanied by a 7-piece jazz band playing original orchestrations of his music. The concert will give tribute to this soul icon, putting new twists on his legendary songs including "Superstition", "Sir Duke", For Once In My Life", and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". The music will be orchestrated and arranged by Joshua Stephen Kartes.
