The Pasadena Playhouse announced today that its productions of TWIST - AN AMERICAN MUSICAL (seven nominations) and BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY (five nominations, tied with CTG's Fela!) are lead contenders for the 2012 NAACP Theatre Awards. The 2012 NAACP Theatre Awards ceremony will be held on November 5, 2012, at the Director's Guild of America in Hollywood.

Commemorating the tenth anniversary of the death of playwright John McGrath, and unseen in a professional production in London since 1966, John McGrath's Events While Guarding The Bofors Gun opens at the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre for a limited four-week season from Tuesday, 22 May 2012 directed by Robert Hastie. Merrie England plays at the Finborough Theatre for a limited run of nine Sunday and Monday evening performances and Tuesday matinees, opening tonight, 27 May 2012.

With an ensemble of burlesque and sideshow performers, this benefit will help support the CIUSA. A new version of A Little Princess, the beloved children's book from 1905 written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, will premiere at the Texas Music Theatre on the historic San Marcos square from October 16th - 19th.
