On Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., three vibrant New York City-based artists will perform in Zankel Hall as part of My City, My Song, an interactive Family Concert celebrating music from around the world. The concert features jazz standards performed by vocalist Brianna Thomas, the percussive rhythms of Puerto Rican bomba and plena music from father-daughter duo Juan Gutierrez and Julia Gutierrez-Rivera (with fellow musicians from Los Pleneros de la 21), and samba from Brazil's Carnival with singer-songwriter Fabiana Masili. Free pre-concert activities are offered one hour prior to each performance, preparing parents and children to sing and dance along with the artists.

Geffen Playhouse will honor legendary singer, songwriter, actor and activist Harry Belafonte and groundbreaking performer, comedienne and activist Lily Tomlin during its 17th annual Backstage at the Geffen fundraiser, it was announced today.

Irish Repertory Theatre presents A 30th Anniversary Celebration, this season's Gala benefit production, on Monday June 17th at 7:00PM at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center (1941 Broadway, New York, NY 10023). HartBeat Ensemble kicks off its 2019 WTF! (Women's Theatre Festival), a three-event series celebrating the artistic endeavors of women and non-binary playwrights, with Tonille Simone Watkis's No Boxes Allowed. Watkis, a resident of Bloomfield, CT, premiered this solo show in 2014 at the Soho Playhouse in Manhattan as a capstone project for her Adelphi University degree in Theatre Arts. She has subsequently performed this piece on identity and self-empowerment in various venues. No Boxes Allowed will be performed at HartBeat Ensemble's Carriage House Theatre for one performance only on Friday, April 12th at 7:30pm.

Today, two-time Grammy nominated DJ and Producer Steve Aoki and global superstars Monsta X release the English version of their collaborative hit “Play it Cool.” On the heels of releasing the Korean version last month, the Aoki-Monsta force keeps fans on their feet with the new English language track. The Jamie Lloyd Company, the successful partnership between Artistic Director Jamie Lloyd and Ambassador Theatre Group, have announced that due to public demand their production of Harold Pinter's Betrayal at the Harold Pinter Theatre will be extended by one week. This landmark production will now end on 8 June. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, Betrayal stars Golden Globe, Olivier and Evening Standard Award winner Tom Hiddleston, Zawe Ashton and Charlie Cox.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Zagreb, Croatia and the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina, sent four Arena Stage Voices of Now (VON) devisers/directors to Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina for three weeks from January 26-February 17, 2019. The artists worked with three ensembles of young people, two in Croatia and one in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and through workshops and rehearsals, three original plays were created and performed by the ensembles. The U.S. Ambassador to Croatia attended one of the performances featuring the Croatia ensemble's piece, and much to the students' delight, they were featured on the evening news.

It's time to strike up the band for the 7th annual concert by the McCallum Theatre Concert Band, with conductor and McCallum Theatre President & CEO Mitch Gershenfeld, on Sunday, March 24, at 3:00pm. Highlights of this year's concert will be a performance of the beloved "Carnival of the Animals" by Saint-Saens featuring pianist Jeffrey Siegel and a new text written and performed by David Gonzalez, and special guest appearances by Gavin MacLeod (narrator) and former TEN Tenor Chad Hilligus (guest vocalist).
