Following a sold-out Canadian tour, Michel Legrand returns to New York for a special one-night engagement at Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center on Saturday, November 21st at 8PM. The multiple Oscar and Grammy-winning pianist and composer will be joined by French singing sensation Mario Pelchat. Five-time Grammy Award winner Dionne Warwick is the special guest star. The trio will be accompanied by a quartet of musicians, including Catherine Michel, the harp soloist at Opera de Paris, for a night of classical film scores by Maestro Legrand, as well as jazz and Hollywood hits, built around the romance and nostalgia of French ‘chanson.'

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Faye Dunaway is set to start filming 'Master Class' in Detroit next week, as both the star and director of the movie. The paper reports that she's been in town for a month in pre-production and that reports of the movie having stalled were false. Dunaway has been trying to put together a feature film adaptation of the Tony-winning play 'Master Class' for the past five years after previously starring in a 1997 tour.

Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of Sammy, a new musical based on the life of Sammy Davis, Jr. with book, music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse, and additional songs by Bricusse and Anthony Newley. Directed by Keith Glover with choreography by Keith Young and music supervision by Ian Fraser, Sammy will run in the Old Globe Theatre Sept. 19 - Nov. 8. Previews run from Sept. 19 - Oct. 1. Opening night is Oct. 2 at 8:00 p.m.

Three classic shows from some of Broadway's most legendary creators will comprise Reprise Theatre Company's 2010 season. For his second season, Artistic Director Jason Alexander has chosen 'Carousel,' 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,' and 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying' at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Matt Dillon will appear at Steppenwolf as part of a one night event on April 6th, 'Nelson Algren Live: The 100th Birthday Celebration.' This event will celebrate the 100th birthday of the late Nelson Algren.
The evening will include never-before-heard work by the famed Chicago writer. Other performers will also include ensemble members Martha Lavey, Estelle Parsons, and Dan Simon as well as authors Russell Banks, Barry Gifford, and Dan DeLillo.
