2018 O'Neill Finalist Period Sisters by Ali Viterbi opens at HERE (145 6th Avenue) on Friday, August 24 at 7pm, continuing on Saturday, August 25 at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday at 2pm.

Adam Webster, Artistic Director of the side project, today announced casting for the side project's world premiere production of OXY, OHIO; Chicago playwright S.J. Spencer's new drama dealing with the opioid epidemic. 

Director of Nuffield Southampton Theatres (NST), Samuel Hodges, today announces full casting for the world premiere of Women in Power. NST Associate Director Blanche McIntyre directs Lydia Bewley, best known for The Inbetweeners, Plebs and E4's comedy Drifters, Elizabeth Boag, Anna Fordham, Lisa Kerr, Anne Odeke and Alicia Mckenzie. The production, in association with Oxford Playhouse, sees some of the UK's most influential female voices, Wendy Cope, Jenny Eclair, Suhayla El-Bushra, Natalie Haynes, Shappi Khorsandi, Jess Phillips MP and Brona C Titley, come together to write this musical comedy based on the Greek classic, The Assemblywomen. The production opens on 13 September at NST City, with previews from 6 September and runs until 29 September. It will then run at Oxford Playhouse from 3 - 6 October.

Soho Rep. (Sarah Benson, Artistic Director; Cynthia Flowers, Executive Director) today announced that actor Charles Browning will take over for Lance Coadie Williams in the world premiere of Jackie Sibblies Drury's Fairview, which Soho Rep. Artistic Director Sarah Benson directs, and which the downtown Manhattan theater presents in association with Berkeley Repertory Theatre. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, Williams is unable to continue.The production now runs at Soho Rep. June 2 - July 8, with opening now set for Sunday, June 17. 

The Jeff Awards announced today that Strawdog Theatre Company will be presented with a 2018 Non-Equity Special Award for 30 years of collaboration as an innovative and provocative Ensemble. Strawdog has been dedicated to its mission of bringing audiences "the whole wide world in a little black box," and is known for its enduring theatrical history. As described by the Ensemble itself, "When the Earth is destroyed by plague, war and famine there will still be cockroaches, Twinkies and Strawdog Theatre Company."

MasterVoices - dedicated to the art of musical storytelling and the celebration of the human voice - presents a free performance of a new version of the dramatic oratorio Naamah's Ark by composer Marisa Michelson and librettist Royce Vavrek, on Sunday, June 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Rockefeller Park. Today, The 24 Hour Plays, in partnership with The New School for Drama, announced that the annual application for The 24 Hour Plays: Nationals will open on Monday, March 19, and will remain open until Sunday, April 15. Callbacks will take place in both New York City (May 1-3) and Los Angeles (May 4, including a special industry panel). Once again, the Nationals will take place in August in New York City.

On Monday, April 9, Roundabout Theatre Company's Roundabout Underground playwriting alumni will gather to present The 24 Hour Plays Off-Broadway. Six playwrights, six directors, 24 actors and a musical guest will perform six brand new short plays written & rehearsed over the course of a single day. The performance will begin at 8:00pm at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street).
