Wells Fargo Center for the Arts and the Santa Rosa Symphony celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Symphony Pops Series. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, the 10th anniversary season will be comprised of four Sunday afternoon performances featuring a star-studded collection of music with tributes to Marvin Hamlisch, Barbra Streisand, ABBA, John Williams, and songs of holiday cheer at the Ruth Finley Person Theater at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts (50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa). Founded in 1994 by the late playwright/filmmaker Arch Brown in memory of his life partner of 28 years, Bruce Allen Brown, the Arch & Bruce Brown Foundation honors outstanding plays and fiction dealing with LGBT history or placing lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender characters in historical settings.

He wrote the fantastic adventures of 'Super Buster' and all his friends as bedtime stories for his children and over the years developed 28 stories which his children delighted in for many years. At this stage, Robert was the designer, developer, and director as well as creator. He broke down each page into a series of panels, describe how each panel should look, where each panel should be positioned, and what each panel should contain. This is a long process as a single page can take several pages to describe. Revision, development, and editing are of course part of the imagining process. Next came penciling. Penciling is where an artist takes the writer's vision and makes it reality, working through each panel of each page and sending proofs to the writer for approval. There's a lot of back and forth in this process. Once the pencil panels and pages are finalized, the pencil art is passed on to an inker who renders the final lines of each panel and page so it can be colored. After a page is inked and colored, the writer works to finalize the story. The final story is edited before it is lettered. Lettering is the process of entering and positioning the dialogue, story text, and other text elements onto each panel of each page. It's a long process, but the result is something unique: a printed story that is told visually as much as with words. And that's how Robert Stanek's comics and graphic novels are born. Italy's Dario D'Ambrosi is a radical innovator of the theater and founder of the movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological Theater). Having staged revolutionary interpretations of 'Richard III' in 1996 and 'Romeo and Juliet' in 2009, he is now taking on 'Hamlet' with a new full-length work, 'Hamlet Hallucinations.' La Mama E.T.C., D'Ambrosi's theatrical home in the USA, will present the work's world premiere tonight, October 17 to November 3.
