Long before the devil wore Prada -- 20 years ago, in fact -- the story of the irrepressible Diana Vreeland first commanded the stage of the Globe in a world premiere in 1995. Oscar and Tony Award winner Mercedes Ruehl (The Fisher King, Lost in Yonkers) now brings "The Empress of Fashion" back in FULL GALLOP. Written by Mark Hampton and Mary Louise Wilson and directed by Andrew Russell, FULL GALLOP will run September 26 through October 25, 2015, with opening night on Thursday, October 1 at 8:00 p.m., in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center.

The connection between man/woman and beast, especially a domesticated beast, can be complicated. Ask a dog or cat owner to describe their relationship and the pets often acquire human qualities, they are usually loved beyond what anyone might expect, and profoundly impact the lives of their owners .Stage Door Theatre Company expounds on that devotion in their recent comedy Sylvia at Sturgeon Bay's Third Avenue Playhouse.

The box office of the Cort Theatre (138 W. 48th Street) went to dogs on Friday, August 28, 2015, when it opened for business for A.R. Gurney's comedy Sylvia. In celebration of Sylvia coming to Broadway for the first time since its MTC debut in 1995, patrons who went to the box office between 10am-12pm EST were able to purchase tickets for preview performances for only $19.95 each. Eric Rosen, Artistic Director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, today announced the casting for the lead roles for Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer-Prize winning masterpiece, Sunday in the Park with George. Drama Desk and Lucille Lortel Nominee Claybourne Elder (Bonnie & Clyde, Road Show, Allegro) will lead the cast as George, reprising his critically-acclaimed performance in Signature Theatre's award-winning 2014 production. Broadway veteran Sara Jean Ford (A Little Night Music, The Phantom of the Opera, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Finian's Rainbow) has been cast in the legendary role of Dot. Rosen will direct the production, to be produced in a unique partnership with the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art.

Producers of the Broadway revival of A.R. Gurney's SYLVIA just announced that two-time Tony Award-winner Matthew Broderick (Brighton Beach Memoirs, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) completes the cast of the forthcoming production, to be staged by Tony Award-winning director Daniel Sullivan (Proof).

Stella Abrera and Misty Copeland have been promoted to the rank of Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre and Skylar Brandt, Thomas Forster, Arron Scott and Cassandra Trenary have been promoted to Soloist effective August 1, 2015.   In addition, Maria Kochetkova, a principal dancer with San Francisco Ballet and Alban Lendorf, a principal dancer with Royal Danish Ballet will join the Company as Principal Dancers and Jeffrey Cirio, a principal dancer with Boston Ballet, will join ABT as a Soloist, it was announced today by Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie.

Tickets for SYLVIA, a modern romantic comedy about a midlife crisis, empty nesters, commitment, therapists, and a dog who is life-changing, will go on sale starting June 17, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. through a special one-week Audience Rewards presale.

The 69th Annual Tony Awards are this Sunday June 7th at 8/9c hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Alan Cumming. It's the biggest award show of the Broadway season and it closes out a long award season for Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals and plays. We can't help but wonder what chances this year's Best Musical and Best Play nominees have of taking home the ultimate prize.

The evening was a celebration of Oscar, Emmy, and Golden Globe winner Helen Mirren, who was presented with The Jason Robards Award for Excellence in Theatre. The tribute featured appearances by Jennifer Garner & Alessandro Nivola and performances by Laura Benanti,Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Santino Fontana, Victor Garber, Donna Murphy, Kelli O'Hara, Alessandro Nivola,Laura Osnes and Betsy Wolfe.

The 2014 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition culminated last night, Thursday evening, October 16, 2014 with the announcement of three winners of the annual international CAG Competition: Korean violinist In Mo Yang (First Prize); Chinese pianist Fei-Fei Dong, and American trumpeter Brandon Ridenour. All three join the CAG artist roster and receive two-year management contracts.
