From May 28 to June 7, 2014, the New York Philharmonic will present the inaugural NY PHIL BIENNIAL, a kaleidoscopic exploration of today's music by a wide range of contemporary and modern composers that will showcase an array of curatorial voices through concerts presented with partners in venues both on and off the Lincoln Center campus.

REEL13's featured classics for January - 'An Affair to Remember' (1957) on January 5, 'The Spirit of St. Louis' (1957) on January 12, 'Bedazzled' (1967) on January 19, and 'No Way Out' (1987) on January 26 - tell stories so popular that they have been told on film time and time again.

The Town Hall (123 West 43 Street) signed on Marilyn Maye, Ben Davis, Dameka Hayes, Jessie Mueller, Alice Ripley, Tom Wopat and Noah Racey, who also choreographed, to perform in THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1946 last night, February 13, 2012 at 8pm. Ross Patterson was the musical director.

The Town Hall has just announced the 12th Season of their acclaimed BROADWAY BY THE YEAR® concert series which kicks off with THE BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1946 on Monday, February 13, 2012. The show is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. Initial casting includes Alice Ripley, the Tony® Award winning star of Next to Normal, Tom Wopat (Tony® Award nominated for his role of Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun revival/Catch Me if You Can), Kerry O'Malley (On a Clear Day…Annie Get Your Gun revival) and Noah Racey (Curtains), who will also choreograph. The evening will feature songs and dance from Irving Berlin's classic Annie Get Your Gun and other musicals including Call Me Mister, St. Louis Woman and Park Avenue. Ross Patterson is the musical director.

Hollywood icon Liza Minnelli - whose brilliant career has earned her an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy and four Tony Awards - will sit down with Turner Classic Movies (TCM) host Robert Osborne for PRIVATE SCREENINGS: LIZA MINNELLI, an in-depth interview special slated to premiere Saturday, Dec. 11, at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). Rather than focusing on Minnelli herself, this special will take the unique approach of centering on the lives and careers of Minnelli's legendary parents, Judy Garland and Vincente Minnelli. In conjunction with the premiere, TCM will pack two nights (Dec. 11-12) with films starring Garland, directed by Vincente Minnelli and/or starring Liza Minnelli.

The director is Peter Flynn and the choreographer is Devanand Janki. With a highly melodic, hummable and bouncy score with bright lyrics, "SHINE the Horatio Alger Musical", has tons of period atmosphere, nostalgic charm, comedy and entertainment. It is a hope and dreams musical with a touch of "Annie", a smidgen of "Oliver", a dash of "Tintypes" as well as a smattering of musical joys that will delight! A multi-talented cast of 18 makes this one of the largest of the festival productions. Joining Music Director Steven Reineke and the orchestra are multi-platinum selling singer and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway, star of the Broadway musical Swing!; Broadway performer James T. Lane; and actress and opera singer N'Kenge. Together with the Camp Broadway Kids, they will perform treasured compositions from the vast Johnny Mercer songbook; highlights include 'Dream,' 'Come Rain or Come Shine,' and 'Moon River.'

Soprano Olivia Hairston, a graduate student at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, took home the grand prize of $5,000 from the 2009 Indiana Campus Super Star competition held on April 19 at the historic Madame Walker Theatre in downtown Indianapolis.
