Tonight, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 26 at 1:30 p.m., Houston Ballet II and the entire school will present its 2014 Spring Showcase in the Cullen Theater at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston.

The Apollo Theater, a leading not-for-profit performing arts institution, announced that its 2014 annual Spring Gala will be transformed into an epic birthday celebration in honor of the storied Theater's 80th anniversary, Tuesday, June 10, at 7pm. Departing from its tradition of inducting legends into the Apollo Hall of Fame, this year's Gala will celebrate the eight decades of artistic brilliance that has been presented on the Apollo stage since 1934. The evening will include special tribute performances by the music industry's biggest artists, some of whom call the Apollo their musical home, including Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson, Natalie Cole, The Isley Brothers, and more. Hosted by Emmy Award-winning and Grammy nominated entertainer Wayne Brady.

Two Pence Theatre Co. announces the second year of their popular reading series Dead Man's Hand. Featuring 90 minute cuts of plays written by Shakespeare's peers, friends and frenemies. Each reading features a new lineup of Chicago's most exciting actors and directors in casual settings exploring these often overlooked gems (and the occasional hilarious stinker.) Milwaukee Chamber Theatre (MCT) presents Ken Ludwig's classic farce LEND ME A TENOR, April 10-27, 2014. This production is a collaboration with the Marquette University Theatre Department with several students, alumni and faculty filling roles both onstage and on the creative team. Ken Ludwig's LEND ME A TENOR performs in the Broadway Theatre Center's Cabot Theatre in Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward.

The award-winning Langley High School theatre department will present its spring production, Lillian Hellman's 1934 play, The Children's Hour. Based on a true story and set in a private girls' boarding school in New England, The Children's Hour chronicles the lives of the school's two young, ambitious owners, Karen Wright and Martha Dobie. When their disciplinary actions against troublesome student, Mary Tilford, upset her, the bratty child runs away to her influential grandmother. Constructing a lie that Karen and Martha were seen having an affair, Mary's action soon becomes more than just a simple fib, causing parents to withdraw their children from the school and the owners to question what went wrong as the women's lives are shattered.

Performance-only tickets are now on sale to the general public for ACT TWO: A SWELL PARTY WITH MOSS HART AND FRIENDS, An Evening of Songs Sketches, Scenes and More Celebrating the Genius of Moss Hart, Monday April 21 at 8pm at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). On Tuesday, March 18, 2014, Asolo Repertory Theatre announced its 2014-2015 season and the third season of its ambitious five-year American Character Project, an in-depth exploration of the soul of this country's people, past and present. Sony Classical releases an awe-inspiring rendition of three cycles of lieder from Gustav Mahler sung by world-renowned German baritone Christian Gerhaher, accompanied by the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, under the direction of Kent Nagano. These songs were recorded during the January 12 and 14, 2013 concerts, at the Maison Symphonique De Montréal. This is the second collaboration between Christian Gerhaher and the OSM, the first being the Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth).
