Join pianist Brian Ganz this Valentine's Day weekend on Feb. 10 as he continues his unprecedented journey through the complete works of Fr d ric Chopin with Chopin's Hidden Gems & All Time Favorites at The Music Center at Strathmore. The 8th concert of the series will offer some of the Romantic master's most popular works alongside his least known pieces.

It's a Jule Styne Celebration! The York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Evans Haile, Executive Director), dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, has announced Stephanie Umoh (Junk, York's Jerry's Girls,) and two-time Tony Award nominee Vivian Reed (Bubbling Brown Sugar, High Rollers...), will lead the cast of the 1968 Tony Award winner for Best Musical, Hallelujah, Baby!, with music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and book by Arthur Laurents, the first of three shows in the Winter 2018 Musicals in Mufti Series celebrating the work of composer Jule Styne.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, will present MONUMENT, a collection of new mini-musicals in concert, the culmination of Prospect's 2018 Musical Theater Lab. MONUMENT, the company's 12th lab performance, will be presented on February 3, 2018 at 8pm at The TimesCenter (242 West 41st, NYC).

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and the preservation of musical gems from the past, as part of its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, will present the staged reading of the new musical The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, with book and lyrics by David Spencer (The Fabulist), music Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors), and based on the novel by Mordecai Richler, for two performances only Monday, December 11 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (619 Lexington Avenue, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue).

Last night The York Theatre Company honored the musical theatre writing team of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt in a Fantastick gala concert and award ceremony directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. ???????Momenta Festival III premieres begin on opening night (October 1) with the world premiere version for theremin and string quartet of Arnold Schoenberg's Entrückung (“Rapture”) from String Quartet No. 2, Op. 10, arranged by soloist Elizabeth Brown, and the US premiere of English composer Michael Small?'s White Space - Meditation on Saenredam (2015) for solo violin.

Celebrity chamber music ensemble Ying Quartet stays in residency on Cape Cod in August, making its debut appearance during Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival's (CCCMF) 38th season with three diverse concert programs.  The final two performances feature the Festival's two artistic directors as instrumental guests.  The Ying Quartet performs on Monday, August 21 at 7:30 pm at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 204 Monument Road, Orleans.  The Art of Song is held on Wednesday, August 23, 7:30 pm is held at Chatham Congregational Church, 650 Main Street.  The season comes to a brilliant close with The Brahms Quintets on Friday, August 25, 7:30 pm at Wellfleet Congregational Church, 200 Main Street.
