DanceWorks, Toronto's longest running contemporary dance series, proudly kicks off the first show of its 39th Season with the return of Vancouver's Wen Wei Dance. The company brings the Toronto premiere of their latest acclaimed interdisciplinary work, Made in China, to Harbourfront Centre Theatre as part of the NextSteps series. The performance runs for two nights only: Friday October 21 and Saturday October 22, at 8pm. Tickets are now on sale.

59E59 Theaters will welcome Dillie Keane (from Fascinating Aida) back to Brits Off Broadway with the US premiere of HELLO DILLIE, written by Ms. Keane and Adele Anderson, and directed by Simon Green and featuring Michael Roulston on piano. Damian Woetzel continues his DEMO series uniting artists around a common theme, April 22-23, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. This installment of the multi-genre series features Memphis jookin' dance pioneer Lil Buck, along with fellow jooker Ron "Prime Tyme" Myles, and musicians Sandeep Das (tabla), Johnny Gandelsman (violin), Cristina Pato (gaita), Wu Tong (sheng), David Teie (cello), and singer, song-writer, and multi-instrumentalist Kate Davis. This adventurous cast of musicians and dancers will explore, through their performances, the worlds they came from, collaboratively reinventing their own instruments and art forms around the theme of Place.

Calgary-based Honens International Piano Competition will begin accepting applications for its eighth edition beginning September 30, 2014. The Competition's Quarterfinals take place in Berlin, London and New York in spring, 2015. Semifinals and Finals take place in Calgary from September 3 to 12, 2015. Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC), building upon its long history of presenting other children's choirs from the U.S. and abroad, hosts the highly anticipated Southern California debut of the illustrious German boys and mens choir Windsbacher Knabenchor on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Pasadena Presbyterian Church. The exchange is part of Windsbacher's 13-day U.S. tour, its first in 23 years, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of fall of the Berlin Wall and Germany's subsequent reunification. Noted for its distinctive soaring sound and invigorating performances, the choir, which hails from the town of Windsbacher, Germany, is under the direction of Martin Lehman. The concert also features LACC's acclaimed Concert Choir and Young Men's Ensemble. The three choirs perform separately, then combine forces for the finale to sing James Erb's moving arrangement of Shenandoah. Last summer, LACC's Concert Choir participated in a workshop and performance with Windsbacher Knabenchor while touring Germany.
