Everyman Theatre's enormously popular Salon Series, celebrating the work of women playwrights, returns for its third edition with five powerful new plays, curated and directed by the women of Everyman Theatre's Resident Acting Company (Dawn Ursula, Beth Hylton, Deborah Hazlett and Megan Anderson), and hosted in the social setting of Everyman's second-floor rehearsal hall on select Monday evenings: February 5, February 19, March 5, March 19 and April 2, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

There is a common expression thrown about whenever discussing Asbury Park and its environs (including Ocean Grove) . It's phoenix like rise from the proverbial ashes has always been the topic of discussion amongst both Jersey Shore residents and tourists alike. Perhaps best known to audiences as the first host of "Good Morning America," and for her co-starring role on TV on "Too Close for Comfort," Dussault's remarkable career began on the stage. Street Theatre Company continues its 2017 season with its production of Andrew Lippa's John and Jen - the sentimental and evocative tale of two siblings - starring Ryan Lynch and Jordan Scott in the eponymous roles, under the direction of Brett Myers.

Though all of Harvey Granat's midday events are illuminating and entertaining, his most recent SONGS AND STORIES on March 16 at 92Y could've easily continued at least another half hour buoyed by audience enthusiasm. The event's special guests, author/producer/journalist Will Friedwald (who has his own 92Y series), and President of Jimmy Van Heusen's catalog, his great nephew, Brook Babcock, were both knowledgeable, engaging raconteurs. It was also a great pleasure to watch the two men join infectiously enjoying the afternoon.

Sirota, who also happens to be a physicist by trade, scrutinizes the changing nature of love in 'Your Name On My Lips,' a new musical about a young artist who fights to hold on to his soulmate as the materialistic world tugs at her. Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present the work tonight, March 2, through March 19.

Actor, singer, playwright and film historian Charles Busch is a multi-talented artist who has won many awards over the course of  his varied career. Remembered for his plays Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Psycho Beach Party and Die! Mommie Die!, the latter two having been translated to film, Busch never ceases to amaze with his unique style of creativity. On March 13 and 14 he is bringing his act That Girl/That Boy to Rockwell Table and Stage. Even before breaking ground on their new home, IAC will welcome audiences into the existing Cybert Tire site for Rooms, a site-specific theatrical installation by the great Irish playwright Enda Walsh (May 3-28). The upcoming 27th annual The Donald M. Ephraim Palm Beach Jewish Film Festival will present movies from around the world, opening with ON THE MAP, the true story of Israel's 1977 basketball team, the first to ever bring the coveted European Cup to Israel. Film director Dani Menkin and basketball legend Tal Brody will attend and participate in a post-film discussion at the January 19 screening at the Kravis Center's Cohen Pavilion.
