On April 12, 2010, the Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre will honor beloved stage, screen, and television actress Angela Lansbury with the company's first Stephen Sondheim Award. (The celebration was originally scheduled to take place on April 26, 2010). The award, established last year in honor of America's most influential contemporary musical theater writer and composer, will be presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The 2010 Sondheim Award Gala is chaired by C. Daniel and Juliann Clemente; Honorary Hosts include actresses Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bernadette Peters, philanthropists Helen Henderson and Ted and Mary Jo Shen, and Congressman James Moran and LuAnn Bennett. The Sondheim Award Gala will benefit Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community outreach programs.

A report out in the Toronto Star today suggests that Garth Drabinsky, convicted and sentenced to 7 years in prison for fraud, is back in action...at least for now. According to the report, Drabinsky has three new large-scale productions in the works for the 2010-2011 season: Christopher Plummer in Barrymore; Colm Wilkinson in Finian's Rainbow; and an all-black revival of Kiss of a Spider Woman.

In celebration of WICKED's return to PlayhouseSquare tonight, November 18, the venue will be hosting a Young Professionals Night on Friday, December 4. Professionals ages 21 - 40 are invited to enjoy free valet parking, compliments of Lexus, at the Wyndham Cleveland hotel and a pre-show cocktail in the Wyndham's Blue Bar before watching the evening performance. After the show, the group is invited to come back to the Wyndham for the exclusive, limited access 'Defying Gravity' post-show party, sponsored by Seagram's escapes, with WICKED cast members in the 14th floor presidential suite. The post show party also includes complimentary cocktails and appetizers.

Elvis and Juliet stars Fred Willard, (Best in Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, WALL-E, 100 appearances on The Tonight show With Jay Leno) as the self proclaimed 'King of the Elvis Impersonators.' He is joined by an award winning cast.

Signature Theatre, winner of the 2009 Regional Theatre Tony Award®, continues its 20th anniversary season in October and November with the two types of musical productions for which the company has become renowned: musical theater and cabaret performances. November 10, 2009 through January 17, 2010, Signature reinvents the 1927 classic American musical, Show Boat, with Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer creating an intimate new staging in the 300-seat MAX Theatre, complete with a special new approved script and new orchestrations. Cabaret shows take over Signature?s other house, the 120-seat ARK Theatre, when Signature begins a year-long ?best of? salute to its 20 years of musicals. From October 13 through 18, the cabaret offering Signature Sings: 1989-1994 will feature music from Company, Wings, Assassins, and Into the Woods. Cabaret performances will again return from November 17 through 22 with Signature Sings: 1995-1999, featuring select songs from First Lady Suite, Cabaret, A Grand Night for Singing, Passion, The Rink, Sunday in the Park With George, Working, The Fix, A Little Night Music, Over and Over, and Tell Me on a Sunday.

CAPA's 2009 Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 39th anniversary with a lineup of classics, cult favorites, and most beloved films.
