Director Seb Harcombe has assembled a cast of emerging talent - seven fine young actors, the next generation of stage talent. They are joined by two well-known faces from stage and screen for the production, which will run from today, 17 July - 10 August.

This premiere marks the culmination of a residency in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). Broadway's original 'Annie', the Tony nominated Andrea McArdle, is on the boards at The Media Theatre this spring in the classic Jerry Herman musical 'Mame' April 17-May 19. The show focuses on Auntie Mame, the eccentric socialite who finds out she must care for her young nephew, forever changing her-and his-outlook on life. Songs include 'Open A New Window', 'Bosom Buddies', and 'We Need A Little Christmas'. Comedienne Lea DeLaria portays Mame's best pal Vera in Director Jesse Cline's revival of the hit.

When I arrived in Portland two and a half years ago, the name I heard repeatedly throughout the Portland theatre community was Matthew B. Zrebski. In the time I have lived here, I have had the opportunity to not only work with Matt in several capacities, but to also call this gracious and humble man my friend. His original and haunting a capella musical thriller Ablaze is about to have its World Premiere, opening at the Brunish Theatre at the Portland Center for the Performing Arts on April 12th. Matt is one of the busiest and hardest working theatre arts in Portland, but I had the chance to sit down with him to discuss this exciting new work.

Sundance Institute announced today the program of short films selected to screen at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. The 2013 Short Film program is comprised of 65 short films selected from a record 8,102 submissions (427 more than for the 2012 Festival).
