And Touchstone called the sequel 'Back in the Habit' . . . and so on. Now, twenty-one years later, Deloris Van Cartier, aspiring diva thrust into a convent for witness protection has come to the Memphis Orpheum.

In 1994, Bette Midler returned to New York after nearly 20 years in Los Angeles, and started the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit organization devoted to bringing abandoned and neglected parks, gardens, and open spaces in all five boroughs back to life. NYRP includes the beautiful New Leaf Cafe in Fort Tryon Park as part of its success, and is committed to helping restore parks and gardens devastated by Hurricane Sandy. The organization just held its 12th Annual Spring Picnic and you can check out full coverage below!

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones, C0-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit, offered a 'sneak peek' of the 60th Anniversary production of The Cocktail Party, T. S. Eliot's profound exploration of self deception and redemption, at a special event titled 'A T.S. Eliot Cocktail: An Evening of Scenes and Poetry' held on Tuesday, March 2nd at Barnes & Noble (2289 Broadway @ 82nd Street). The event, free and open to the public, provided an insightful look at the life and work of one of the world's most revered writers.

Producer Jeffrey Finn announced that rehearsals began on Monday, September 14 for the first Broadway production of OLEANNA, the provocative drama by Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet. StarringBill Pullman and Julia Stiles and directed by Tony Award winnerDoug Hughes (Doubt), the play is a gripping account of a power struggle between a male university professor and one of his female students. The Broadway production will begin previews on Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at The Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) with an Opening Night set for Sunday, October 11, 2009. The cast and creative team took a break from the rehearsal room to meet the press and BroadwayWorld.com's cameras were there!
